Hi, Everyone who are the males that have been used most in Germany at this time!

Which dogs are producing in the likness of the progeny and who isn't prodcing like expected of them at this time?

Does anyone also know if any males are producing problems at all in any way or form.
I know its not just down to the Sire, they have a Dam too which contributes!

Just interested to here form people with good progeny and from people who also have a few problem.

Tanya.

Hello,

With no doubt and the decknachrichten can confirm it, the most used male is Ustinov vom Römerland since last year siegerschau.

In my opinion the best progeny from this young dogs is from Ober, Tyson and Furbo.

But you have always Vegas and Zamp =)

Don't know, but without doubt whoever they are they will be overused if past popularity is any basis for judgement, thereby 'bottlenecking' the gene pool which is never a good thing.

Unfortunately the gene pool is already seriously bottlenecked -  which is why I switched to working line dogs. Same problem exists there in some lines, but it's not as bad (yet) as the showlines. I certainly agree with the overuse of VA dogs - if these truly were the best representatives of the breed there might be SOME merit to it, but that often isn't the case - too many politics and special interests at work apparently promoting certain breeders and kennels at the expense of others (who might actually be more deserving.)

I think Ober has some beautiful progeny,
check them out very promising.
I also think that we miss using out on good dogs because they don't go VA or go in the top 20 V's

I think people forget to look past these postions, and i personally think good dogs are over looked because they dont make the first 30 dogs!

This is only my opinion but i have seen some really out standing dogs with good breeding in the 40 to 60.

Anyone out their want to let me know of any lovely dogs that will be at the Sieger, apart from the ones we know who will already be in the top 30 positions.

I mean small time breeders who have some lovely looking dogs! but just wont make the top 30 for one thing or another.

I know they are out their!!!!  it will give me something to look out for while there, alot of people over look these dogs and only have eye's for the VA's.

It would be great come on Guy's let me know were the other stars are out there.

Tanya
