Yeah. I could have walked away empty-handed, but why should I give up everything I worked decades of my life to earn, hand it all to some jerk and have to work my ass off to replace it? If there's nothing left to get back, he will be ordered to replace it. If there is, and I can use it in future (after all, I hauled most of it all the way across this country before I ever met him) then I want it back. Even if it sits in storage for a year while I get settled and save enough money to move it to my new home, its better than having to replace it all.
Just musing. I do wish I had packed a few more items of winter wear. Ha ha ha.
AND the electric mattress pad. I miss that.
The dogs are doing well now. The show dogs are back on their feed, gaining weight back after all the stress of moving around. The working dogs are even a little fat. Bijou tore up a pad on the kennel fence, bouncing off the walls excited about all the different dogs passing by, but it will heal.
Me... I needed to to lose some weight anyway. I am in a pretty good frame of mind, despite a bit of frustration that the legal end of this mess doesn't move any faster than it does. I have a home waiting for me when I get there, and maybe a decent job, or maybe I will just try to make it with the dogs and some part time work. We'll see when I get there. Whateve it turns out to be, I am looking forward to the future with a happy heart and a positive attitude. Three months ago I couldn't remember how either of those things felt.
Thanks again,
SS

You are out of order with your posts, Shelley never asked for anything but a couple of the Guys or Girls i should say worked out a system where people may help her on her way to a better life from the Jerk she had who was running hers at that time
She is a gutsy lady and what does it hurt to help others who are in need of it at the time, We have all needed help in one way or the other and if you have not up to this time, if you live long enough you will find it so
I am looking forewards to the day when she will be settled in a place of her choice and free from the tyrant husband for good then she can get on living again,
I knew a Guy for many years he was a mate of mine, i was 34 at the time, then one day i called at his house to find his wife crying and hiding in a broom cupboard, i asked her what was the problem and she told me after a lot of probing that her husband used to hit her but you would never know for he hit her where it could not be seen,
She showed me bruises on top of bruises on her stomach and sides, Needless to say i left the house and fixed my mate about it, He made up some excuses and said it was none of my business, i said i have made it my business, and i gave him such a beating he was taken to hospital you could not see a mark on his face but i did the same to him as he did to his wife and the same places as he hit her only worse, needless to say i was taken to the Police cells to spend a couple of days inside, He was taking it to court but decided better it did not go there, not for my sake for i did not give a tap about it but he would have got another hiding afterwards for his trouble,
Needless to say it gave the courage to his wife to leave him and get a divorce, So it was well worth it for me and some good came out of it

I fall more and more in love with you every day! Women all over the web are cheering for you and your good deed! I wish more men had the guts to step up and put an end to what they know is going on. Unfortunately they often choose to ignore it which then condones it. Good on ya mate!

But they are Bullies who must take there frustration out on the nearest and easiest person and that is normally the wife, girl friend or there kids, I do know one thing really they are gutless,
I think in my life i have stuck up for three women the one mentioned, one a complete stranger in a busy shopping street in Newbury, Berkshire i was walking along minding my own business and saw and heard a couple having a row, i saw the Guy slap the girls face just as i was passing so i stopped and said to him was that good for you doing that to her in a quiet voice now see if this is as good and i gave him a good dig between his ribs he buckled at the knees and i walked on, giving the girl a smile as i passed her, no one noticed it was done in a second but i felt happy afterwards, The other time a Guy late at night was drunk and was pushing a girl not hitting her then, i was with a mate, we crossed the road and told the guy to cut it out he had a bit of lip, So we picked him up and hung him on a bracket which was on the wall of the post office building where they were arguing, He was left hanging by his coat collar a foot off the ground it was a freezing cold night in the winter, and i remember to this day he was an American by the sound of his voice and he called me buddy, I still have a laugh to myself when i think back to the old days

Steve,
You are a gem! I can just see that fellow hanging from his coat collar! And the other guy doubling over from the jab in the ribs. Thanks for the chuckles! You are one of the wonderful few who steps up when no one else does. I love to hear your life experiences. Sounds like you have lived quite a life and have many more stories stored away. I truly admire you.

you are making me blush, yes i could tell some stories, one i always think back on was when i was young and i worked on the Greenham Air force base in Newbury Berkshire, IT was then an American Base the same time as we hung the Young American up by his coat collar for getting on to that girl that winter night, i guess he was based from up there,
Anyway i was late for work one morning and came in the back way to the Base, I was working up at the Sequel Hut top of the Main runway, So i was on my racing bike came in the Gates shouted to the Guard on the gate flashed him my pass as i shot through and onto the taxi track to go up to the end of the Runway so i thought
I was going well, head down with a tail wind or it felt like it i was really tanking on then i heard a siren blasting out,
Dopey buggers i said to myself making that racket this time of the morning it was only 7 O'Clock
Then i glanced behind to see this Jeep tearing up behind me three big MP's in there one driving two others they came along side of me without stopping one grabbed me and yanked me into the jeep the other grabbed my bike and they swerved of the track and tore away to the right flat out, i did not know what time of day it was it happened so fast
A few seconds later i saw this B47 bomber coming down the runway and i had been tearing up to meet it then it was gone
I was not on the taxi track in my haste to get to work being late i was ripping up the Main Runway heading towards this Bomber taking off the far end, They took me up to the Guard house for interrogation,
They went over board a bit but i could see there point of view, i was there for 4 hours and i really pissed them off when i said can they get me a cup of tea and a sandwich because it was past my lunch break
