Oh how cheeky!  Good thing they caught up with you eh?  I don't imagine there would be much left of you had the MPs not stopped you.  Wichita, Ks. is known as the Air Capital of the World and they have a beautiful Art Deco building that used to be the main airport here as their building.  Slowly but surely, with donations they are fixing it up and coming up with more and more displays.   I think it's a shame more people don't show an interest in it.  I love visiting and going up in the tower where they play radio transmissions from other airports so it sounds like the runways there are still alive, not overgrown with weeds.  They are trying to reassemble a B29 bomber at the museum.  Both the plane and the museum need a lot of work.  Check out their website at

 www.kansasaviationmuseum.org/museum.php

Not sure why it won't high light but you can copy & paste it.  I think you'll find it interesting.

Sorry we hijacked your thread Shelley.
Good thoughts to you always!
Deb

Steve1:  You just keep filling our hearts with good stories of your gallant honor..You are indeed one of the gems , not like a few others on this board who call women names and come on here with ugly remarks to start world war 111.   You are a doll and no woman deserves disrespect on here..We have a fine bunch of ladies and I have never heard Shelley put anyone down with a nasty word..She deserves respects as well as all the rest of us gals...we none of us, want anything to do with men who have that kind of attitude...no more....stay the course....Shelley.....keep your eyes on calm cool water....a place of peaceful abode with people who help not hinder you or bring hate, or ugliness to your life.....

Thank you Steve 1.   And please always use the 1  behind your name ....!!!!!!!

My favorite aircraft-

by 1doggie2 on 08 October 2009 - 05:10

Steve1, to funny. A few of us girls went camping at the beach, we got there very late at night. We were woke in the am by a bunch of GI's playing War Games. We were on the Milatary base!

Ohhh pretty pic Shelley!  My favorite has always been the B17 bomber.  We had the Aluminum Overcast in town about 15 years ago and I got to go up in it.  I even got to sit at the controls and was going to get to pilot it when some small aircraft cut into our flight path and the pilot took the controls until we were clear.  He asked me if I was ready to try again when I was hit with the worst case of air sickness I have ever had.  They got me clear of the controls and I spent the rest of the flight in the jump seat behind the pilot puking my guts up.  They, funny guys that they were, sent me an 8x10 photo of me sitting in the jump seat with one of them fanning my face with a barf bag.  LOL  It was the best time ever!!  Prior to the upchucking, I rode in the navigator's seat on take off, got to wander thru the entire plane, checked out the bombay catwalk and rode in the nose of the plane on my belly.  We were not allowed in the ball turrets, which is just as well because had I been able to get my generous ass down into the belly turret I'm sure my claustaphobia would have kicked in and who knows what kind of damage I would have done getting free of it.  I still have my flight jacket and somewhere those pics of me.  What a ride!

Okay Y.R Steve 1 it is from now on, funny Steve is my real name and i only added the 1 so i would not be confused with a possible other Guy called Steve posting at the time of joining, Yes, all those of the Fairer Sex should be treated like Ladies, much like the Knights of King Arthurs time, Gallentry existed then, but has fallen short over the years
Deb' i would have beaten you had the MP's not arrived to whip me off that runway before that B47 Bomber reached me
I would have gone down in history as one of the original 'MATCH STICK MEN'

Steve1, You are right some woman are as bad as us guys, but i do not condone violence of any sort, towards MAN or woman. However some of the ladies here use their " fairer sex" title as an excuse, they comment on here along with the men as equals, so i treat them as such. Is that not what they want to be, treated as equals? Really does ones head in when they can comment as they please, but call the " i'm a lady" card when  the going gets tough. Steve you be careful now, YR just might convert you to the bible, lol, lol. She should maybe take a leaf out of Shelley's book, now she's one tough lady, she certainly gets my respect for what she is doing.

No, you are not right, What do you mean they expect to be treated as equals to us Guys
THEY are equal to us in every way and some more as well
It is Not at all manly to curse and call a woman names, exactly the opposite, of course some women can be right pains at times but they are only different from us Guys because they bear the Children and we do not other than that they are the same,
But if you are a man it has gone on through the ages to be kind and considerate to the wants of Ladies they are Physically on the whole weaker in strength body wise to us Males well nearly all i met a 28 year old Osteopath only a few days ago who twisted me round like i was a  bit of rag the other day when i put my back out, She was strong girl, I was just going to Track young IZZY when i trod on a dog poo we were going down a slope at the time and i went down at a funny angle and the lower back clicked and that was it, Izzy was all over me like a rash and i was on the ground unable to move
Anyway getting back to the point, it is as i was bought up to bad manners if you did not treat a Lady with respect at all times i know some can be difficult but then so can we
No one more so than me, when i get going nothing but a bucket of cold water over me will slow me down as many have guessed by some of my posts

As i said in my last post I TREAT THEM AS EQUALS, so don't play the limp card when it suits girls. I have also said before, i treat like with like........ be it man woman or beast!!!  And that's just the way i was brought up, not to let ANYONE stand on my toes. Steve i know you can be a firey guy, lol, lol, i do read your posts and find them very interesting, so on this one we will have to agree to disagree.  SORRY SHELLEY!!! I will now let this thread get back on topic, good luck to you where ever you are and what ever you do.
