The female was left at the stud owner's place on her sixth day of being in heat, and was picked up 10 days later, but with no success. My friend says her female would keep sitting down or snap at the stud.
I read once before that in a situation like this the female should be muzzled and held by several people.
Does anyone out there have any other suggestions or experiences with something like this? Thanks!

SEVERAL THINGS DONE WRONG HERE. THE MALE WAS INTRODUCED TO HER TOO EARLY. DURING THE PROESTRUS PERIOD THE BITCH IS USUALLY HOSTILE TOWARDS THE POTENTIAL LOVER. AT THE END OF PROESTRUS SHE WILL HAVE A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE AND BECOME INTERESTED IN ROMANCE. YOU TOOK THE MALE AWAY AT THE TIME SHE COULD HAVE CONCIEVED.
ALSO DID YOU PREPARE THE POTENTIAL SIRE WITH A STRONG RAP? DID YOU DAB SOME FAHRENHEIT COLOGNE BEHIND HIS EARS? DID YOU BRING ALONG AN MP3 PLAYER WITH SPEAKERS AND SOME BARRY WHITE OR ISAAC HAYES PLAYING? YOU KNOW YOU CANT JUST THROW 2 DOGS TOGETHER AND EXPECT SUCCESS.

The female should have been taken to the vet to have a cytology done to know exactly when she would be ready for breeding and then if she wouldn't accept the male at least she could have been bred with artificial insemination. Typically the female is bred 11,13 and 15th days but some females differ from this. Since doing a cytology on the females we have a very good success rate Good luck!

If she is not accepting, she is either not in standing heat or has health issues. For goodness sake take her to the vet before muzzling and forcing her. Sheesh.
Cage, have much luck with women?
