Thanks Sharyn,
That is why I contacted the breeder/importer...she had to get the dog out of the house asap, since it hurt her husband pretty bad...he is in a boarding facility now, till I can move some of these dogs out...then I will have room for him..the dog was okay with another guy that was in the military, knew how to handle a tough dog...these people have no business owning this working type dog..Ray Reid should have known better, specially since they couldn't handle a puppy from him originally...he sent this trained dog instead...they have spent bucks, getting the dog shipped and paid for. All she wanted was a dog to take on walks to help her keep moving with her MS...

I told her I would give her an easy American Dog....grrrrrr.

I just don't want this dog Put down, because they can't handle it, before someone gets hurt...we'll see...

BTW; a girlfriend stopped by to pick up the package of your clippers, they were sent Priority Mail...so you should get them today. I haven't been out of the house since Christmas Eve,
Thanks, Steph

Prager

I would like to add my unorthodox point of view. But first I'd say Bless your hearts all you  rescue people! I sometimes rescue a dog from a traffic or once I have rescued a dog which was meandering through a desert with his head stuck in a plastic gallon  mayonnaise jar. I named him Mayo and found him a home.
BUT!
If you rescue a dogs from irresponsible owners then you may just support and perpetuate the problem and my experience is that they will do it again and again.....and again. People who have dogs are moving into apartment which does not allow dogs. Why ??!! Why not to apartment where they allow dogs ,.... since they have one or two. Or they just can not have a dog "any more", what ever that means. Thus I will not help to people like that. I hope that they will feel like crap when they are dumping a dog in dog pound or putting it down. I believe that every dog has a purpose here and the purpose of that particular dog was to teach these people some responsibility. I know, I know,... that assumes that such people have minimal emotions and that may be too much to expect.
Thus I have a  rule to always take back a dog which I have sold, if there is no other way (Like proper training) or the one which is in eminent danger of life and limb or if someone dies or similar   no fault situation. (By the way someone said that there is always someone at fault that is absolutely not the truth!)
My hope:
I would like to hope that each person keeps their dog through thick and thin. It is possible It you can not make that commitment do not buy a dog!  The dog is the most faithful friend you will ever have. He will not let you down, will not betray you. That is more then you can say about almost any human. So try to be at least 1/2 as devoted to your dog  as the dog is to you. Every dog should be for ever home dog. That is my hope.

Hans,

I am sorry, but I think your policy gives them the "out" they are looking for. They do not feel like crap dropping the dog off at the pound at all.   There was a BLIND man in this area several years ago who dropped a GUIDE dog off at the shelter.  Seems his sighted fiancee had told him that she'd be his eyes, so he didn't need the dog.   What kind of bitch would even think of saying something like that?  What kind of idiot would listen to it?   Had he had any friends with any awareness, he would have been warned that this was Step #1 to isolate him and make him more dependent, as he entered a potentially abusive situation.

The dog was almost immediately claimed by a gsd rescue groups and rehomed.    I never learned what happened to the ass who abandoned him, but I have thought of it many times over the years....and I hope that fiancee really kicked his ass and put his pitiful ass through the  wringer.  Now, HE might have learned from the experience!

You may be right ,.... maybe their kids will feel like a crap. Also, you know, I often make them feel like a crap  though. Some say that I am very good at that. God I hate when people are dumping their dogs with excuse for a reason to do so.

You have go to be kidding,  Some one actually gave up their seeing eye dog? I thought I had heard all of the stories, that one tops "he does not match the color of the carpet anymore". I am with you he deserved what he got.
