OK NOW!
The "younger" pics just posted........ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTION.......BOTH puppies, Kris & Koda are long stock coats!
We can tell long stock coated puppies before their 3rd week.........SOME coated puppies will change slightly in appearance around 7-9 weeks, and make it a little more challenging......but the younger the puppy......the easier to tell sometimes.
I have had a puppy that looked very, very similar to the Koda puppy.....same fuzzy look, same hair on the back of the ears......and many people asked if she was coated.   She even had a judge question himself about her, as she was shown her first time.  SHE IS NOT A COATED DOG.   She is over 7 years old now.......and has been shown many times, beautiful stock coat.
Point making........there is always a different "look" in the puppies faces from birth on.......do not rely completely on "coat" fuzziness, or length.......the younger the puppy, the easier the "look" of the face is revealed.

Best wishes!  They are very cute!

In an earlier post, someone mentioned that about 8-9 weeks you can usually tell better as the hair between the toes is fussy and the ears and really fuzzy, like the picture above of Apollo. ??

I am sure the first puppy pictured is a long coat - or technically "long stock coat".  Not "just plush".  The second set of pictures it is very hard to tell if the first two are long stock or "just plush" but normal.  But I suspect the first two are long stock, I think the third one is "just plush".

There is no chance NOT 1 in a million that this puppy will be long coat.
Any one saying it will has no clue .
Dont worry about a thing.

Nans gsd,
Fuzz behind the ears, does not always mean "long coat"....and some very beautiful "normal coated" puppies, can have some hair between the toes.
The long stock coats have "more" than normal fuzz and hair behind and at the front base of the ear........and sometimes, much thicker, longer hairs around the toes, feet and legs.....
It's really hard for all the posters to agree on what they use as "references" in spotting the coated puppies in litters.......because, we all have different "eyes", and rely on different instincts.
.......Practice makes perfect......
