I do not if Kanto produced anything but the web site of the owners clearly, sadly, declares him sterile. The two young VA males from Wallace that are rumored to be dead are Hooper and Alf. Good luck in your quest for the truth but keep in mind that some do not want the truth to be known. Be very careful.

Dear Spaetzle: Hooper and Alf's situations are not at all related to one another and have nothing to do with this post.

We are discussing predisposed health problems that may come through Wallace. Then. what about the progeny from Wallace's siblings? Didn't Wallace's sire, Scott von Deodatus, die (I heard of bloat) at a relatively young age?

Clayton, If the above posts are true and Tacco is sterile, why would anyone want to breed to him and why would you advertise this? Were you unaware of his sterility, or misinformed? I am curious as to the nature of this, as I do purchase MANY German imports and would like to know who's on the "up and up" and who isn't (in Germany and anywhere else!). If you'd prefer, please do email me privately.

Well the word of him being sterile has surprised me...which leads me to more questions. How much effect could this have on my pup. Are the chances of my dog being sterile even greater....do some genetic traits skip a generation? My pup was from a litter of 9 sired by Tacco.

If Tacco is considered to be sterile hes no more nothing than a regular house pet... or if he has enough drives to do national level schutzhund work. I could not even imagine anybody wanting to breed to this line! So far I see nothing but health issues.

"I could not even imagine anybody wanting to breed to this line! So far I see nothing but health issues." Brittany he has in fact great lines behind him as does my pup. With many top rated dogs. Good and bad can come out of any lines. So I'm not understanding you stating "I dont know who would want to breed to these lines" is about.

so...I am glad to hear that Charlie Ivory is not Mary Bryant...because I thought they lived on opposite coasts!!

ZalDante, Maybe from his mother lines.. Seems that Wallace produces some health problems to his progeny, according to what I'm seeing from Spaetzle's post: ------------------------- Comments by Spaetzle: Wow, this is very distressful. First I hear of the death of two very young VA dogs from Wallace and now I hear of two males (Kanto and Tacco) that are announced to be sterile. What is going on with the Wallace progeny? Comments by Spaetzle: I do not if Kanto produced anything but the web site of the owners clearly, sadly, declares him sterile. The two young VA males from Wallace that are rumored to be dead are Hooper and Alf. Good luck in your quest for the truth but keep in mind that some do not want the truth to be known. Be very careful. -------------------------- If Spaetzle says are true... why risk breeding theses health issues into future generations? Also what are the cause of death that accured from theses two young dogs? Why did they die? Any reason ? Anyhow If tacco is indeed sterile... we don't need to worry about him being bred anymore.

Wallace and Scott have each had thousands of progeny. Is it realistic to expect that each of them will be completely healthy. Both of these dogs are top producers who have contributed a great deal to the breed. Please name a sire for me that has never had isolated offspring with reproduction difficulties?
