You are right GSDtravels. I know her family, she is our friend and neighbour.
And yes, she is legitimate.

I'M NOT ASKING FOR MONEY. I'M LOOKING FOR A HOME/SOMEONE WHO CAN TAKE NALA. AND CARE FOR HER. I HAVE NOT LEFT NO INFO ABOUT GETTING MONEY, SO I CANT TAKE THIS PERSONAL. I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS SITE THIS MORNING FROM A BREEDER WE KNOW. EVEN IF WE GO THE SURGERY, ITS JUST HARD OVER ALL KNOW TO TAKE CARE OF HER EYES.

AFTER WE TOOK NALA THE 2ND TIME TO BANFIELD, WE HAD JUST SPENT 198.00 AT HER 1ST VISIT, THEY TOLD US ABOUT THE WELLNESS PROGRAM. THEN AT THE 3RD VISIT, THEY SAY OHHHHH, BLIND OR SURGERY..

WE LIVE NEAR CHICAGO. WE HAVE CALLED 3 VETS AND EACH TOLD US THE SAME.  I WILL CHECK THE LINK ABOUT THIS EYE PROBLEM,  THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE KIND WORDS,

DakotaCody,
Would you keep the dog and treat it if we could help you with the meds... I will help you if you will keep the dog and treat her. We will all help out in getting the surgery if it is needed, just so you can keep the dog. Check out Hodie's link and let us know..
We would very much like you to keep the dog if you can...and I think I can speak for the majority here, we will help you to attain that goal.
OR is there another reason you want to get rid of her???
Please let us know if there is more than the operation and upkeep, in your decision to get rid of her??
Steph

Sorry if I seem skeptical, its my nature.

Your whole story breaks my heart, thats part of my problem.

I've been looking your website over more than reading this.

If you checked out, and if you have to put the dog down, I would be willing to give you a pup for the kids sake.
I'm a days drive away.

At this point you should do whats best for the dog.   You have time to think things over.

I think I saw where you mentioned $1,000.00 per eye.
Thats a lot.

I dunno, I'm still skeptical at this point.

Moons.

no other reason to get rid of her.  It's just the surgery cost/ after treatments

the eye onitment  Optimmune ophthalmic  we put in her eyes 2 times a day is $50.00 for this small tube.

it's been lasting a week and a couple days. so its been close to 200.00 so far.

thats why we decided it was best to find her a home, someone who can take care of her the right way.

money used on nala has went on our C.cards and we are about to at the end of our ropes on them.

we dont beliave in putting animals to sleep, i love animals so much, and so we thought it was best to find her a home. so there is no other eason we would of wanted to get rid of her. she is our family member..

i am so touched with ur replys.....

Just an idea, and I don't know if it has been done on dogs or not, but I have very dry eyes and the opthamolgist put a little plastic mini tube in my ducts to increase the flow, I don't know how or why but it works and I don't even know I have them in...

Darn, I knew there was a reason I didn't breed myself!!! ROFL, too many congenital defects!!!! LOL...

Anyhow, cyclosporine is not that expensive,
Let me know what you decide...

I understand the love for an animal, but I very strongly believe in putting one down rather than see it suffer.

This is a choice you may very well have to face.

I would check out some other treatments as Hodie suggested first.
Get away from the Chicago area and treatment prices may come down.

It would be very hard for me to lose one of mine, I know how you feel.
I too have children, I know what thats like also.
Partly why I do not trust doctors anymore, or Vets.

And because of scams I also have a healthy respect for the truth.

I do hope you can find a way.
You appear to know troubles and hard times.

Moons.
