Well,in some respects i am disapointed that the number of views this topic has received not a s
ingle comment by
fellow exhibitors has been posted . Pilot was purchased by us from our good friend ,fellow exhibitor and Judge Paul
Rattigan at the tender of age of 6-7weeks with absolute loads of potential even at that age. Not only did my husband
bring home Pilot(Pele) his sister also accompained him on the journey from Liverpool to run on for Paul, unfortuneatly,
the sister did not have the same potential.

As an exhibitor I was very fond of the Grey Dog and was fortunate to witness in my years of showing Anne and Nick
Ziver's dog Ch.Shercoz Bon-Jovi. A beautiful male of good size with an outstanding presence, full of coat with typical
expression. Another dog from the North East to which always caught my eye was Dave and Joan Halls female
Gayvilles Dixie, typical female proportions, expressive and very good on the move, both these dogs worthy Champions.
It was sad though to see the demise of Bon-Jovi after an alleged poisoning to which ended his show career...sad.
Pilots half brother Quino from the very good producing dam Jupaala Swankie Chick was yet another good grey dog, a
top size dog and not as rich in furnishings as Pilot but a well motivated dog owned and trained by Moira and Colin
Garwood who were always at the forefront with their animals.I do remember well maybe do others the controversy at
Weston Pk 2-Day Ch Show under Sv Judge Herr Henrici when both Pilot and Quino were in for the Challenge Certificate
and unknown to our young handler Steve Cox Quinos handler jumped a place in the standings and was awarded the
RCC,I'll never forgive you for that Mr Dodds, but things were amended and the rightful winner was awarded the prize
to the delight of the crowd. Lastly a mention must go to Pilots Kennel mate our own Nordstrom Brague (Xiwar) a Grey
Dog also, sired by Ch Cas v.d.Molenaker out of Edensmuir Mindy another good producing bitch in the same mould as
Paul Rattigans Swankie Chick. Xiwar for me was that potential nearly dog, having gained his JW he was always at the
forefront at Championship Show level winning many Junior, Yearling and Limit dog classes but tickets never came
his way, both Mick and I always used to say that if he was owned by Malcom,Ricky,Davy Hall or shall we say a bigger
kennel we are pretty sure he would have taken CC's.

We look forward to meeting up again with old friends during this summers show calender unfortuneatly minus any
dogs.We had the opportunity earlier on in the year of purchasing a young Grey Dog from Germany which due to
unforseen circumstances has not materialised but rest assured I am always on the look out to return to a passion
I have missed over the years............

Regards to all Jan Clarke.

Hi Jan
I  remeber all the dogs mentioned above especially Pilot and Bon-Jovi two of my favorite sable dogs. We had a sable male a grandson of Bon-Jovi named Marcoy's Curuso at Korzwin he died in 2005 aged almost 13 years. I swore we would never have another sable but we now have 4 sable youngster who we look forward to showing this year.

I sometimes forget there is two forums to look at, Jan maybe you should post it in the German Shepherd as opposed to General Topic.
Remember the dogs well, look forward to seeing you around the shows this year
