This year a panda?, next year, a pick-a-poodle, then a paint QH racer, and absolutely nothing to show other than the bank account.

I'm neither new to this forum nor am I unlearned concerning genetics,  I shall not cast my pearls  before swine in an attempt to try and explain to you how you can get a panda solid whit from a normal colored mating.

Research: they are not freaks - just have color.

Well, what's the harm in a "Panda" Shepherd? They're sort of pretty, I think. As long as there are no incidences of deafness, as is the case with some other breeds, predominantly white or with white patches. This IS the reason that Max von Stephanitz disallowed white GSDs from breeding. He knew about these problems in other breeds and associated the white color with a lack of vigor and health... hence, the emphasis (his) on dark pigment. In the not-so-distant past, we've seen some GSDs winning in the top shows with embarassingly lacking pigment, for that matter..

But, people are very small-minded and intolerant, as a rule. And mobs really coalesce on lists like this one. You think you've seen controversy on Panda Shepherds, watch them jump on me, after each and every post I make!

Our dogs have only been "pure" bred (recorded breedings) for a little over a hundred years. Before that, shepherds and farmers bred their dogs to any dog within a reasonable distance which worked well on sheep and livestock. At one time we had a brindle coat pattern in this breed. Also a wire haired variant was seen.

Small minded is letting animals suffer in their own waste and then blaming it on everyone else, intolerant to animal abusers you bet.

I frankly like that we are, for the most part, left to express how we really feel on this forum. I get irritated with other forums where everyone is, "oh how wonderfull" about every damm picture and litter.

Every dog doesn't have something to offer the gene pool, well at least not something worthwhile or good.

Yep.  Some keep calling me an attacking troll and to go away at puppy&dog forum because I state my opinions about dog beauty paegants ruining the GSD and other breeds.

I guess we are supposed to ignore the truth and kiss certain peoples asses.  Not my nature to do so.

The GSD is the creation of an incredible visionary who sought to create a dog for the sole purpose of service to man. I think that the accomplishments of the GSD far exceed even what he envisioned.

There is no other breed that comes close. Tonight, there are soldiers in war zones who lived the day thanks to their "bomb detector" GSD. There are blind people who have mobility thanks to the GSD. Criminals have been apprehended, drugs have been uncovered, crimes have been solved,, all by the use of the GSD. There are people who have dedicated their whole lives to producing the dog capable of achieving these goals. No other breed in the world can match the documented and recorded accomplishments of the GSD.

And here come these folks like maggie and tuff, whose most notable accomplishments to the GSD is scooping up poop and watching their pet lick his balls, and they know how to improve this breed.

You have know idea what I do. Breed, Train, or have a Pet..  But you have proven that you can bray like a Jack Ass.

You talk about the accomplishments of the GSD as a service animal.  Well, while you are scooping poop each day.  I happen to be training Service Dogs for Disabled Solders.  Yes, I could use Labs or Goldens. But sir, I prefer the much beloved GSD like the 8 mo. old male that is currently nudging my elbow because he wants to play ball.

I also train Drug K9's.  My partner trains Labs and Mals. Not me, I stick with my chosen breed that day in and day out will be true to the test the GSD.

So don't start your crap with me.  We can talk training and get into areas that you no not of.  Or genetics and I'll make my argument as to why there are White German Shepherds AND Panda German Shepherds.   By the way I am not a fan of either!

BUT DON'T MAKE AN IGNORANT AND INFLAMMATORY STATEMENT ABOUT ME.  Man you don't even know me.

As far as the horses my grandkids (3,4,&5) will handle that one.  They do all the showing I just pay for it.  So take it up with them they have more time and more on your level.
