This message is for Birdy. She states that she adds the Ivermectin Heart Worm Preventitive to the bowl of food. My vet told me long ago not to do that, to only give the dose on an EMPTY stomach !, otherwise the dose gets diluted down to much, risking the dog ending up with Heart Worms anyway !. Furthermore, I can't agree with only giving the Preventitive every other month. That would be too Risky for me. Yes, one can save a few bucks that way, but you know, one can buy the 1% Ivermectin directly from Alibaba.com , direct from China, costing a lot less than buying it from any Vet !. By the way, the Vets that still use and sell Ivermectin, DO BUY IT From China too !. Hope this inf. helps as many dogs as it hopefully can, & hopefully the readers of this will take me seriously too. Sincerely, Kodell ...

Ingredients can be sourced from China, but you only want to buy those that are of FDA approved components, so you can be sure of the standard for the ingredient.
That goes for buying drugs from any other country, you can't expect USA standards unless you buy FDA approved.

Well... Interesting to see my name here...
Kodel, it's absorbed by the stomach so food does not matter. Although, I do only give enough to entice the dog to eat it as Ivermectin tastes horrible.
Before putting in the food, I use to dilute it in orange soda and squirt it down the back of their throats.
Hope this helps.

I've been adding it to my dog's food for years, and they are worm free. (Except those pesky tapeworms!) I have to use a different wormer for those rascals. As a side note, and not sure that this has anything to do with anything, but since using Ivomec I have had not one friggin flea on the place. ??? Its nice, whatever the reason.

I have been using Ivomec since the middle 80's....I never had any problems or any unfortunate situations....I put all puppies from our litters on it as soon as they reach 10lbs. Not one puppy that has been started on Ivomec has had any worms at the first vet check after leaving our possession. The only other worm medicine I may use is Safeguard for tapeworms.
Also on another note, I have never had a case of, or produced demodetic mange.......
