german shepherd lover; You missed my point. Why spend $5000-$10000 on a family pet? Surely paying $800-$1200 on a puppy, and taking it to training classes would be a better option. There is no sense for either the dog or the purchaser; The buyer gets an animal he/she can not handle, returns the dog and loses out on quite a bit of money (To me anyway). The Dog has to go through the stress of moving to a new home, where the dog senses he is not wanted, and is repeatedly 'corrected' for doing things he has previously been rewarded for. He is then sent back to his previous home to go through the readjustment again. I am a firm beliver that too many homes can ruin a dog. Im my eyes, the only people who will spend that kind of money on a pet, for a child non the less, and don't use the dog for what he has been prepared for are simply in it to say "Hey, my dog is a SchIII and is trained to bite... I paid $9000 for him - Like my new Porsche?" No offence, its just common sense.

JAREDG, You my friend is missing the point. No matter what they paid for the dog they did not get what was expected. This is America you can spend whaever you want for anything. Most of the top imported dogs in this country are not worked but sit around the Kennel as trophies and studded out now and then. Kyle

Jaredg i am sorry but you are missing the point, this person who bought the dog was not a dog person enough to know the differernce this kennel advertises dogs as spend the large amounts of money and have peace of mind that the dog we send you is trained and on perfect temperment for your family. You will not have to worry about anything with one of our super dogs. I know this for a fact I almost fell for one of their dogs about four years ago, thankfully she was only 4,000 suposedly nice drives a bit washed out in color thought that was why she was in states, WRONG! I tracked down the previous owner before Krafterwerk imported her and they told me the facts they had sold the dog cheap to kraftwerk for a reason and now kraftwerk was charging astroniomical prices and promising me the dog could be what it could not be. I am thankful I was slightly more knowledgable and suspicious or else I would have been taken like so many others. They are promising doggy bot lassie type dogs on a full time basis to family homes who are trying to ad a safe dog for their family and trying to buy a garantee that their family will be safe from harm from that dog. These people dont understand or know any better. His whole pitch and his page of testimonaials are geared towards what price would you pay for the perfect dog and according to them all of their dogs are perfect.

GSDNewbie.. U said... "These people dont understand or know any better". My point.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience with Kraftwerk K9 and Wayne. When I got my dog from WC he told me over the phone that all of his dogs would be fine with cats. But I new enough to let them interact slowly, however the prey drive in my GSD is such if the cat was running through the house he will chase him down.  My cat passed away after 4 months with my dog dieing of natural causes. When I started looking for a GSD for Schutzhund I found WC's website. It was a cool flashy site compared to most and when I called I told them I was looking for a young male to do SCH with and for home protection. I was assured they had only the finest dog in the USA and was told about a lot of pretty awards and wins across the world.  Anyway long story short, the dog I ended up with was not a dog for computation. Don't get me wrong I have had my dog for 4 years now and I love him to death but he is not the dog I was promised.  Over the years off and on I have contacted WC with questions and the after sale communication has been lacking. As long as WC thinks he is getting more money he is on the ball returning phone calls and emails.  I have been looking for a female for a while now but the way they have acted have turned me off to them. I always feel like a mark when talking to them now. Back then I was a big fish and they hooked me good!

Brittney I disagree with your statement about the "working lines" and I completely agree with what Molly said.  My dog although really really really would love to get ahold of just 1 of my crazy neighbors gazillion ferile cats and take a chunk out of their hind he knows it's a NO NO.  Once in awhile one of the cats gets bold and will try to sneak past him over our fence and he'll just chase them away knowing damn well if he really wanted to catch em he could.  Now my other neighbor who lives on the other side of "the cat man" has a Lab named Moose who has killed SEVERAL of "cat mans" felines that have crossed that side of the fence.  The Lab has never had any formal obedience or been taught to have a certain level of "self control".  I was taught very early on that you MUST have control over your dog at all times, under all circumstances that may or may not take place, in or out of the home.  This was a clear case of the breeder just wanting to move a dog and this poor woman paid the painful price.
