The breed standards for gad male height tops at 65-66 cm. In the recent years the VA males seem larger than the standard. Does anyone know the exact sizes of these VA males in these past say 5 years. Some of them seem like 68cm+. taking into account only VA males...

It was brought down to 60-62 cm , starting in 2009 , that's why Furbo, Odin , Negus , Tino didn't compete anymore and went to China

Maybe you made a typo mistake there, 60-62 cm can not be correct for a male GSD, they wouldn't bring it down that much this soon !!!

In a recent thread it was mentioned it was reduced to 60-64 cms and with the 1 cm plus minus allowance the max is 65 cms and that is to further reinforce not promoting oversize GSDs which became a fashion lately.

Who ever started the rumor...SV breed standard was and still is 55-60 cm for females and 60-65cm for males.

oh...and size does matter...and I'm not only saying that because I'm female but also because a GSD has to be versatile and working breed. Oversized dogs with oversized hearts do not have the endurance nor the flexibility we need in good working dogs.

IMO correct dog is the best dog as per specs.

I doubt that you will get an answer, an honest one that is.
But to enlighten you : Acording to their breedsurveys they are ALL within the standart. Like it or not.
