Moderator, I totally agree with you on that one, but how do you as a moderator feel about personal insults from one poster to another poster, or posting personal insults about another poster?  That should not be toleratered either, as we are all human just as is the moderators and the site owner..

Nothing intended, just asking...

Personal insults of any kind will not be tolerated, full stop, mrdarcy (mod)

by Modulus Rex on 07 January 2011 - 08:01

Not all heated back-and-forth exchanges between members require moderation, except in those circumstances when people get out of control.  Those who look for personal insult in every disagreement should develop slightly thicker skins and not expect the moderators to fight their battles for them.

That said, obviously there are lines that should not be crossed even during the most heated debates, and when that occurs so will moderation.

Heated discussions are one thing, but when the name calling starts that is entirely difference...Heated discussion can take place without being insulting to and at each other....That is what I was talking about...Not a heated discussion that is on topic and opinions differ.......But I understand what you guys are saying....Gotcha....

Ya well, I don't think Mods should be PM'n people about moderation. Especially, when the moderation is bogus. 4 a mod to PM me to tell me what was deleted is stupid, especially when it's a sentence with 7 vocab words and nothing of an insult, flame or personal attack. I read these forums everyday just outta habit now, pretty sad when you can't make a corrective statement outta the blue with out being branded by a mod. It's clearly personal 4 some of these mods. +hhh well, it was fun. LOL Gotta get the dog ready for her hair dresser appt now, have a good one.

Exactly!

And, haha, the first post on here looks like mrdarcy started a thread and bashed somebody.  Just the way it's written it looks like a Mod came in and warned mrdarcy to knock it off.

Moderator comment, mrdarcy. PM was not an explanation, I do not need to do that, but a WARNING about posting 13 identical comments, once is quite adequate.
