Jenn,

Ego has nothing to do with my responce to you. You asked a question and I gave you a descriptive answer, so you might understand where I was at. My dogs aren't the toughest or the best, but they're good dogs. I will openly discuss my dogs faults with anyone, I have nothing to hide.

I must have struck a nerve questioning your greatness.LMAO. Keep cutting my opinions and my dogs up I find it amusing. I've seen several dogs from your breeder, nice dogs, but yawn. I should have known nothing I have could compare to your high standards and the quality you produce.LOL. How I forgot this I don't know, you remind us all almost daily.

"and treated the dogs with the dignity and respect they deserve, we wouldn't need to be so paranoid about weakening bonds via corrections"

I still stand behind my original statement of not pushing the issue while cutting his nails. I respect the fact he doesn't like it. What is gained by asserting my authority? IMO, nothing just distrust everytime I try to cut his nails. Would you assert dominace if your dog didn't like stairs?

I don't think Steve was linking SchH to the grooming, but the broken bond from forcing it to be groomed. Not my thought but what I think he was expressing. This behavior was noticed at 10 weeks.

"I've seen several dogs from your breeder, nice dogs, but yawn."

Didn't you used to have a web site associated with your profile and didn't I read on it that you got your first GSD like four years ago?  Is it possible you could still have some learning to do?  Just sayin'...

Keith,

I have lot's of learning to do and will always continue to learn. My opinion 10 years from now won't change. The website wasn't linked to my profile an add was. I'll never toot my own horn and never will like so many here do. It's not in my nature.

My point is that maybe you were yawning because you don't necessarily know what you're looking at...yet.  Likewise with an earlier comment you made about the possibility that Jenn hasn't, "owned a dog like this."  While that may or may not be true, you haven't owned dogs "like this" for that long and what you may consider over the top today is likely going to seem pretty normal to you in the future.  Does that make sense or am I not explaining myself well?

It makes sense Keith.

A medium drive dog lacking intensity isn't hiding any suprises.

Felloffher (can't help but inwardly groan every time I type that), could it be that you missed my point and mistook what I was saying as a criticism of YOU and not just a question about your idea of a weakened bond? Why don't you do what I asked a few posts back and reread what you wrote, what I wrote, and then what you wrote back. You're a little touchy, and a little sharp and overly defensive, IMO.  Hmmm, wait......maybe YOUR paranoia is running down leash and your dog is actually fine. Interesting thought. Who am I to judge, though?

Since you seem rather interested in me and are offering opinions on my dogs (who don't recall meeting you; I asked them all and they all said they'd remember someone going by that handle), how about you answer a couple questions about my dogs for me?

Who is "my breeder"? Hagenberg? Schraderhaus? Grafental? Linmarc? Or do you mean my Pit Bulls? Or my Chihuahas? I don't have even 2 dogs from the same breeder. How do you even know what dogs I have? I'm not exactly one of the ones who has a need to put my http in every post to try to sell puppies, in case you haven't noticed, and you seem like you notice a lot about me. How have you come across this info? (Feel free to PM me so as not to bore the forum w/your answers).

What, exactly, do you think you know about me and my greatness? (thank you, by the way) And, more importantly, WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH THIS THREAD? I can almost guarantee you, no one wants to read this back and forth crap.

Your stairs question wasn't serious, was it?

I am proud to announce that Prince is groomed with at least three different types of brushes and currys  for about 15 to 20 minutes. Once a week his nails are trimmed, filed with a grinder, and then shaped by hand to perfection. His teeth are brushed and ears cleaned......No problems at all......Sleeps for most of it...

Deanna, based on all you have written about Prince and your trials and tribulations, good for you. That is something to be happy about. Kudos.

Maybe time to end this thread, it has gone beyond the original post as usual.
