Toots i dont know who MG is and sounds like i dont want to.Regards our dog it was sold to us in the knowledge that it was to be shown, had i known about the colour thing i wouldnt have bought it.The breeders have been around quite a while so would have known about the colour thing.Even after everything we will keep it if only as a pet or i might try something else with it as it has a great bond with me.

DEVON - I am so sorry this has happened to you and it is a disgrace you were sold this puppy for show, when clearly she is not show quality - of course you can still have some fun with her by going to local open shows and exemption shows or even trying obedience with her if she is so close to you. Many of us have had to learn the GSD game the hard way - the only way forward is to pick yourself up and decide what you want to do next - if you want to show eventually keep looking at show quality stock and do not be afraid to ask questions. I had to wait a long time to get a good puppy as my first GSDs were only really pets and one was a long-coat, but by watching carefully and going to shows as a spectator you will notice more and learn more. It is never too late to get back into it again. Hope you enjoy your dogs and the next one is a success for you. All the very best to you and your family.

hi devon, dont give up as the same thing hapened to us.we have a lovely male who was sold as "show quality",but is now our star pet, which the breeder said"if you want a wall full of red rossets like me then get rid of the dog".haveing told his breeder he would go no-where,the breeder washed his hands of us and his own dog.a blessing in disguise.talk to some of the sucsesful kennels about a partnership,as keen enthusiastic newcomers to the breed are very good to promote their kennel and gives you a chance to be competitive and enjoy a good team spirit.dont give up and you will get there wishing you all the best in the future

hi devon u still need to b careful of the larger lennels they bite herder!! i learnt the hard way trust your own instincts not what they tell you xx

by Toots on 21 June 2006 - 21:06

Hi Devon, I just thought I add my 2 p worth here. I agree with Kazzie, be VERY VERY CAREFUL what you do next - look at how some of the bigger names got to the top - how many people did they crush on the way up, there are many many good kennels out there, but ask around - like I said question everything. I was duped twice good time by 2 of the biggest kennels in the country at the time (a good number of years ago) and from that I learned to do my homework before I purchased another dog. From then on I chose to buy or use stud very carefully and from then on I only had myself to blame if things went wrong. There have been mistakes made by myself, but I have no regrets and will continue to enjoy my dogs no matter what anyone thinks of them and decided a few years ago to ignore the morons in this breed and it is working for me. Look at who gets support from their breeders when they need it and who gets the brush off after they buy the dog, like you have had done to you. I know where you got your dog and you were conned, I am so sorry this has happened to you, but you need to pick yourself up and go forward. If you want to give me an e-mail address I can talk to you privately, your choice. Best wishes again.
