I think also do as other sites and make people use their real names to sign on....I do believe most here would have no problem doing that if it were required....I wouldn't have a problem with it...

Maggie, thats a good suggestion. Limit the number of usernames to one for each IP address, unless proof can be established that the username is for a different person with the same IP address...
Really, Why would any person want to use several usernames anyway, unless he has multiple personalities..

Both those ideas have been presented on here to Oli before (using your real name to sign in & also only allowing one user name per person). I remember it being discussed on here in the past. Maybe someday he'll do both. I remember some people freaked out at the thought of having to use their real names.

Thats probably why it never was required, because of all those that freaked out....I am sure a few had legitimate reasons..But I bet 99% of those that freaked out had other reasons for freaking out.......JMO

Maggie you state that some people have several user names. If you have proof of such a thing, have you provided that proof to Oli and/or the mods or is this just your opinion? I know a couple of gals I am pretty sure have used multiple user names, but since I have no proof, it's nothing more than my opinion, so I don't state such a thing as if it were fact.
I am 100% for ALL members having to use their real names, NO exceptions. A couple of the other boards I am a member of require real first and last names. Cuts down on the bullshit, and the rifraf, that's for sure.

Why are you asking me? I found it funny that the person asking for this doesn't use her name. Believe it or not, but some people on here work in LE. What do you think a defense attorney does? LEOs need to watch what they put in their text massages also. They can be used against you when you testify against a criminal. Same with Facebook.
Not everyone here is hiding their identity so they can slam the people that breed crap and act like they do PP with their dog because it can't be proven. Some people actually have a legitimate reason to use a screen name.

Since I have suggested it, I have also stated that I would be more than willing to use my real name if it would be required....I have posted our website link more than once on here, so obviously I have nothing to hide......I even signed my real name on here before......
If a person has to be that secretive about themselves, perhaps the Internet isn't a place for them at all...As for LEO, its not real hard to find out who they are if they post their dogs, pic or post things about their job and the bust they make......As long as work and the legal stuff isn't posted here, there shouldn't be a problem using their real name....The only problems are going to be the ones they create for themselves......

Myself I like the way the pedigree section is set up. I have entered several dogs for my mentor and if it was changed and locked down then she would not be able to go on there and change anything if she wanted, I have addedsome things on some older dogs that I knew was right because I had copies of the pink papers. It always ask you are you sure you want to do this and reminds you you are being tracked.
And as far as using real names I prefer not to. The reason being I have a very unusual American Indian name--I guarantee you if you googled my real first and last name I would be the only one that would come up. Because of my name I would be very easy to find and I prefer to have some privacy.............
