Why is today "Pi" day? It would make sense to celebrate it on the 314th day of the year.

3.14  =  3/14  for the sake of a Mathematician's Holiday.  It is being celebrated in our schools today.

Don,
pi = 3.14159265 in the decimal system...but did you know that
the Egyptians used a Sexagesimal system so they calculated it differently.
I solved a age old problem by using their system and their pi. They call heaps a some
total....Cool stuff

It was not important until computers started to use 6's...So if there is any nerd in you
you may enjoy that little bit of info...Signs and wonders.

Sexagesimal (base 60) is a numeral system with sixty as its base. It originated with the ancient Sumerians in the 3rd millennium BC

Max, a math nerd, I am not. I was just a sick kid that paid attention when Mrs. Roy said Pi.
