Unconstitutional War - Page 1

So some people are saying maybe it’s unconstitutional that Obama went to war with Libya without consulting Congress. We still care about that sort of thing? I thought something being constitutional was sort of a vague concept now with no strict definition — like saying something is smurfy. Still, Joe Biden thinks Obama should be impeached over this — though there is a bit of a conflict of interest there since, if it happens, Biden will get a big pay raise out of the deal. So, what do you think? Should Obama be impeached over this, or are you like me and just assumed the president had the authority to bomb wherever in the Middle East whenever he felt like it? Still trying to understand: So it’s okay to do exactly what Bush did as long as France leads the way?

Impeachment is a waste of time and money, just a smoke screen.

The interesting thing is  the "we" in USA is taken aback by this new war because "we" don't want the world to think of us as war mongers, and then to hear someone from the MiddleEast speak words of gratefulness, well, that is why. It is hard to want to fulfull the "why" if those who are helped are not appreciative. Yes, there is oil involved, but that one works both ways, no one ever mentions that.

One of these days USA needs to wean itself from OIL and NUCLEAR energy. So much time has already been wasted. The big proponents are dead, and we will be dead before ALL  that is the toxic legacy makes itself clear.

So, to be clear, all of the left’s objections to Bush were partisan nonsense and didn’t reflect any deeply held beliefs?

Yes, that's Joe Biden referring to George Bush in 2007.  Link me something where Biden says Obama should be impeached, or stop spreading mis-information.  Are the circumstances the same? I guess that depends on where you get your news.   For the record,  I think we have no business pretending we're in Libya to protect the citizens, but in the end it's just business.  I don't think he should be impeached, simply because it's obvious that it doesn't matter who's in power....a larger entity is pulling the strings.
