ooh geez ....

What Jack@$$ complained in the first place and whats the problem with the basketball hoop in someones yard.

I think the best question is what is now the appropriate course of action for these people. Why did they get screwed and not for nothing they were completely lied to.

I'd like to know the back story behind this first off.

2nd, I'm pretty sure you can't put basketball hoops in the street like his was.

and last, that cop did lie and was basically making shit up on the spot.

Wow, that cop did lie. There are some pretty nasty neighbors on that street. People put hoops facing the streets at the end of cul du sacs all the time. I'm sure it is not legal.  Somebody hates kids. Unfortunately, everyone else on the street probably started turning them toward the street causing  safety issues to increase because of passing traffic. They should have grandfathered the 60 year pole at the end of the street. The losers are the kids. They'll probably start smashing mailboxes out of boredom, now.

I wish those cops worked in my town - I'd have loved for them to deal with the idiots up the street who left their portable backboard out in the street ALL WINTER LONG one year so that the plows couldn't plow to the curb, thus effectively reducing the street to one lane.  Assholes...

Not nearly as bad as a neighbor's RV blocking your view, LOL
