Politicians make me sick!  Soldiers should not miss any or all of their pay because of the stupid politicians.  All of the senators, congressmen, and the president should give up all of their pay checks.

Your damn right. Every time those lousy shit bags fail to settle matters, they should not get paid again until they do. So sick of hearing about politicians on vacation or leaving the state to get out of work. Who the hell else can get away with such BS? Legislature and the Senate are too well paid and bennefited for the meager work they put in. If you can't pay our military, you can't pay our president or the rest of his cronies!

ggturner and 4pack... AMEN! I hate that there are men and women who need to focus on their objective in order to have a better chance at coming home safely and yet they're worried about being paid. It's disgusting, no one should have to worry about getting paid for their service to our country but what I've found is most just give lip service to supporting our troops, most really don't give a crap about them. Take care and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

God Bless our Troops yes, BUT we must get government under controll. They are spending us out of house and home - litterly

The budget has grown 30% since Obama has taken office......and is slated go up way past that.....

The democrat lead House didn't do this when they were in controll, and now there's a fight.... it's all so stupid. The budget should have been passed prior to October of LAST year....... if our troops have to wait on their pay - blame a democrat.

The troops will get paid everythihng that is owed, only they will have to wait until a budget is passed....

FYI

Beaming with enthusiasm, President Obama surprised tourists with an appearance at the Lincoln Memorial Saturday afternoon. He was there to make the point that places such as the Lincoln Memorial are open today because The White House and House Republicans reached a budget agreement keeping the government open.

"Because Congress was able to settle its differences that's why this place is open today and everybody’s able to enjoy their visit," Obama told visitors.

"And that's the kind of future cooperation I hope we have going forward ‘cause this is what America is all about - everybody from different places enjoying those things that bind us together," he added.

The president got out of his motorcade and rushed up the steps at the memorial where he took a few minutes to shake hands and talk with visitors.

Obama made the trip not long after signing a continuing resolution that will keep the government open until Congress votes on last night’s last minute deal.

The Lincoln Memorial is one of the president’s favorite spots in DC, White House staffers say.

IMO - our country is fixing to go Argentina 1999 - 2000! Is everyone ready for the ride?

Jeeezzz....and I thought Canadians swallowed a bitter pill towards politics! Being Canadian, I'm always intrigued by what you southern neighbours think of your government. I try to follow what happens, but it's hard to keep up, since we have alot of daft politicians up here as well. I've come to the conclusion, I don't vote for who I want in office....I vote for who I think can oust the one I don't want in office. It's all a game of chess. Personally, I thought Obama would be a trail-blazer, but I think he's come into a super hard situation (war, global economy). I'm not sure what the answer is. I truly get heart-sick when I hear about people in the U.S. losing their homes...literally everything, because of the whole sub-prime fiasco. Not sure where I was going with this post....just read about it (and see it alot). My husband and I travel quite frequently to the States, and the devastation in some parts is tragic.
