Hello, I am considering aquiring a female puppy from vom Kirschental in Germany, I was wondering if there are any people with their dogs. I really like their bloodlines they have and the fact that they focus in herding.
I have a couple questions as well:
What characteristics have you seen in a herding dog, or onw with herding lines? Are they any different from the rest of GSDs?
And more or less how do some German kennels decide what puppy they send to each different person? I am sure it varies much by kennel, but just to have an idea.
I am looking for a female with not only beauty, but most imprtant with brains, and correct character, a dog willing to work.
Thank you so much for your help!

they are good honest people, you tell them what you want and you will get that.

I have heard alot of good things about them.  Not personally bought a dog/puppy from them.
Like the other person commented, they have been around forever.

A breeder local to me has a super male from their kennel, Sherry vom Kirschental. They are a kennel of known good repute.

This goes to people in general - Just make certain that the person you are communicating with is actually the breeder and not someone posing as him or her. If you make contact through this PDB, some people provide links to a facsimile or authentic website, but give you their own e-mail posing as the breeder. Trust but verify.

If you know someone who has previously imported dogs from them, perhaps they give you advice or even give you a personal referral to the breeder.

Also, make your desire for the type of puppy very specific. Just know that if you are a hobby breeder with little or no show or sport experience, you most likely will not get a first or second pick from a top litter. Germans and other Europeans really don't like importing their best dogs to the USA unless they know their client and respect him or her.
