Why would a male not be interested in a female that is in heat and on day 7? What would make him interested day 3 and try with all his might to breed but then not try anymore?

Could you posibly have missed the start of her season?
Have you done a progesterone test to see what stage she is at?
How long is her heat normaly?
Is it posible that the male has already mated her? Some males will only do the job once.

7 days is awfully early for her to have gone past ovulation (at least for my dogs it would be).

Possibly not ready;  7 days is early;  look and pay attention but wait for 11-14 days.

I have no idea when I breed my lab what day to breed her, cause the boys (GSD's) go crazy
over her when she starts to come into heat, then after about 7 days they stop showing interest.

So last time I bred her, and it is the last time, so I wanted things to go perfect, I did a progesterone test, and it said 2, then I waited 5 days & it said 18, breed on that day for optimum results, so I did AI and got 8 very nice pups 4 boys & 4 girls!

The only thing I did different, was I bred her, then on that same day had them draw the blood and send it off to the lab, I don't need to test the Shepherd's, but my lab was a mystery!

Sometimes you send the blood to the lab and you could miss the breeding if you were to wait for the results, so I thought I would have a better idea at the day of mating.
