Good morning!

Does anyone have a check list they use when choosing a stud? What lines produce better with Ursus bloodlines: Negus, Vegas, or Ober Bad-Boll?

Trixx I'm very interested too. I would like to know what people look for especially when it comes to show lines. I'm thinking of breeding my female, both are VA rated but one is higher rated than the other but the one with the lower rating has competed in more SchH compeitions. Both have great hips and great blood. One is Negus son and other is Vegas son, both lines are great alternatives to Ursus lines which my female has so I don't know. My gut tells me go with the stud with more SchH competition...

Can you get video of the dogs actually working?

More SchH competition might or might not mean anything.  It might just be that the kennel had access to more competition/had more desire to compete on the field.

What do you want to strengthen in your female?

Don't just look at the pedigree, look at the dogs' involved and maybe make yourself a list of which of the two studs is going to best strengthen your female's weaknesses.

My female has great temperament and workability which i want to sustain and improve. The dog that has done more competition was awarded the Universal sieger award, so I think he is pretty good in that area. He has everything I like in a male. I also want to improve on my females pigment and rear angulation. I believe he can do this as well.

Sounds like your gut is already telling you which male to go with. :D

:) I think it is but you know breeding to the other male would give me a very colorful pedigree with VA rated males and numerous VA rated females and dogs withSchH2 and SchH3. I know it may sound superficial but people like to see a pedigree full of VA rated dogs with SchH3 titles.

i like to see VA and SCH and that they  are producing the full package.

whats the name of your dogs , i am intrested to take alook at the pedigree?

i honestly would take the lighter color dogs as the workability is more important than top placeing show dog.  and you cant forget to get top quallty temp..well thats what i would be looking for...
