i am editing,
i searched and searched for months until i found MY COUSIN -THE RIGHT PUPPY- so NO I DID NOT $$$$$$$ BUY with my money!!!!!
but my cousin only bought him because i told him too!!!
so now I FEEL GUILTY about the whole situation

i bought a dog last week, to the day!! he did not feel well for 2 days i am in the emergency animal hospital in NY City, .the pup was bought from a well know schutzhund breeder, pup came looking healthy, his price was 2,500!!!!
now what should i do if i have to put this pup down?? the breeder is starting to give me a bit of an attitude, by all rights  if you sold me this pup would you be happy and sorry for the whole situation and send me my money back??

Are you feeding the pup the same food as the breeder was?  Intussusception can also be caused by parasites or bones plastic toys etc lodged in the intestine or a virus, (such as distemper and parvovirus).

Since you have only had the pup a week, the breeder (if it is caused by parasites or a virus) should work with you on this.
Unfortunately it may  be more common in GSD's so there  may be an inherited factor also.

You said the pup was healthy when you got him, what does your vet think the cause of this was?

You have informed the Breeder of this poor puppy's situation.  Why not concentrate now on (hopefully and prayerfully) getting your Puppy better?

You ask what to do if you have to have the puppy put to sleep????  Well start praying for him/her, that the Vet will be able to save your Puppy.

Deal with the outcome of the situation if it should happen.  Then perhaps the Breeder will be greatly sympathetic, may even ask for something in writing from your Vet.  But at present, if I was the Breeder, I would want to see and know that your main concern was for the health and welfare of this Puppy, nothing more.

you may be rich, but some people aren't.

Vixen, she is at the emergency hospital right now with the pup, and I'm sure she is stressed.  Maybe the situation is dire, we don't know, however, this is going to be costly and traumatic for her and the puppy.

I agree though,  wait and see what caused the inflammation, how the pup is going to be, then discuss it with the breeder.  Sending prayers your way harley and hoping for the best for your new pup.

Harley, Don't get angry with me!  My first concern on reading this was for that Puppy, but from your written text I was taken aback by your focus on how much the puppy cost, whether you would be reimbursed, and what if the puppy was put to sleep, even while it is fighting for life!

I can overlook your remarks, presuming deep upset and stress for the puppy.  However, you mentioned the Breeder is "starting to give you a bit of attitude" - Why am I not feeling a little surprised, if you are being rudely sarcastic to them as you have to me?

You have informed the Breeder, why presume they are your enemy?  They may well be deeply distressed too, but if you are flaring an abusive attitude with them, they will surely not be impressed, with a puppy they entrusted you with.

You paid good money for this Puppy, and was not shouting about that cost and not being rich!

Deal with what you need to deal with at present.  Take one step at a time BUT concentrate on that Puppy!

Were there no symptoms leading up to this? Did the puppy have soft stools or anything when you got him? Did you take him to your vet within 72 hours of getting him for a wellness exam? Caught early and treated by an experienced surgeon, its a very treatable condition with major surgery. Good luck
