thank god charlie, is a stand up man, and is doing everything he can to get my cousin a new pup, when he is ready. thank you charlie!!!!!!!
my cousin said they are very sincere  and very emotional about this pup passing away.i believe charlie was going to keep this pup as his own.
but my cousin asked me to write to everyone to say he is a very very nice man and was heartbroken to hear of what had happen.so hats of to charlie :)))))

Very Good News,
I am sure that my 9 week old puppy has Mega E  hope I am wrong,  (I will find out on Tuesday next week if she has for sure) fingers corssed
that I am wrong XXXXX, and there is No Way I would sell (or home her) without telling any potential owner of her problem.
She is such a naughty puppy ( she is able to climb a 3 foot fence) she just uses the sqaures of the fence as a ladder. :):):)
She has always been the first to do everything, open eyes, escape from whelping box, escape from puppy run !!!!!!!

Great news, Dawn. That's what I was hoping; as a breeder, that's how I would feel and would go through the same thing- shock, denial...all the normal stages of grief. It doesn't mean I wouldn't take care of it once it sunk in, and I'm glad I was right and gave them the benefit of the doubt!

Happy to hear the right thing was done by the breeder.

Good news.

Dogshome, I once had a puppy who at about 7- 8 weeks kept vomiting after eating, ME was suspected but I was told to feed the puppy at a raised level, apart from the siblings.  By 3 months the problem was corrected, without any additional treatment, and never recurred in this dog, and I have never had another case since (this was about 9 years ago now)  I hope this will be the case with your pup, that it is something temporary.

Just curious as to what age this Mega-E shows up; it's hard to believe that the pups don't show signs while  nursing on their moms.  Really a sad disease;  so is it considered a birth defect or inheritable?  Nan

by oso on 12 August 2011 - 14:08

I am not sure if it is inheritable but I think it usually shows up around weaning or just after, and I think I read that some of these dogs can be maintained on a liquid or semi liquid diet.  I seem to remember reading that it can also come on at a later stage and may occasionally be be caused by certain infections.  It is not always necessarily congenital but I believe this is more usual..would have to check all this as it was quite a while ago that I was researching it...

Glad the things are going to work out for your cuz..  We rescued a 5 year old bitch who was dumped because she vomited after her meals. they adopted her out once from the shelter and she was returned.  She's been  here as our much beloved companion... We just got rid of the rugs in our house. Klytie has just turned 11 years, and with a raised dish, and specially prepared meals (brown rice, chicken or turkey and Vegies mixes with a small amount of small kibble) she rarely throws up.

even with Mega E, she's been a joy.
