Hello, I cant find much info as to what length a show lead oughtta be. Can someone help me with this? Is 8ft enough, or should i get a longer one if Im already investing in one???

I think everyone you ask will give you a different answer, and a lot of it has to do with personal preference. All of mine are about 8 feet and I've never had a poblem. Hope that helps.

What kind of show?  Depends on ring size.  UKC rings here tend to be extremely small, so I use a 4' lead.  SV style shows, generally my handlers have their own lead but I bring an 8-10' along just in case.

I agree with VDGSD;  are we talking about a GSD??  Different breeds differ in lengths.  Nan

If it's a GSD in an SV style show ring... 8 foot is average, but I've seen them 10-15 feet.  the longer ones are used for experienced dogs who show themselves well. It takes the dog out farther from the handler so it shows it's self better, conformation and training wise.
