Has anyone ever experience a bitch bowing coat like this prior to coming into heat.  This is the first time I ever see this.
This bitch started off with a gorgeous healthy full winter coat but only blew her coat from the shoulders back right before coming into heat.
Any ideas or experiences with this sorta thing. Im confused!!!

Sorry, Actually she blew coat from midway her back, backwards.

Don't worry the rest will follow. Have fun stripping it out .

My girl used to start blowing coat from her belly upwards... it would just work its way upwards til she had a thatch left on her back and the rest of her would be totally bald!

We call this girl the Lion Queen. She will be a year old next month and this is her first heat. Total shock for us,
since we have never seen this before. The wonders and beauty of nature. Gotta love ole mother nature.

I currently have a very bald cattle dog bitch, bald is far better than blowing coat LOL I thought Shepherds could shed!!!

My 2 girls just did the same thing, within a week the entire extra winter under coat came off in fluffs! Experience says the top coat will follow before they come into heat. So dont be surprised if this happens to your girl as well. Best for the top coat is stripping it by hand; its faster then with a brush and easier on the skin.

Hutchins,
your dog will shed at various stages and times.
Age plays a part, as does coming into heat, time of year and weather, also if you have the dog in and out of the house often.
Might as well get used to it, GSD's are well known for it.

Moons.
