Abby Normal,

Universities will have their research directors who will screen the research scientist proposals, and they will determine who gets funding. However, if a donor were to earmark donation dollars for a specific purpose, the University if they accept that donation, would have to honor the donor's request.

Again, no one will grant funding without the proper due diligence of the researchers, or their supporting organizations. Not having a 501 c 3 designation for the Dr. Clemmons research/protocol is certainly one of his biggest drawbacks.

The U of Fla has a foundation which is a 501c- Dr C does not, personally, nor do I. U of Fla puts all their resources to human medicine. I send checks to dr C earmarked for his research, but I am not in the same league as the AKC money or the OFA money- not even close.  Mars is closer.....Staff was cut when funding became scarce.  Grad assistants were taken away thus the ability to write for grants, which proved fruitless anyway, as the AKC never funded Dr C- they always fund dr coates. DrCoates used to work at Texas A&M= thats where she did her original DM research with methionine. She is no longer there but is funded wherever she goes by the akc.

Marjorie,

How can I say this in a nice way? You have no clue how to go about this, do you? I have tried to lay it out for you, but you prefer to struggle in vain.

Thank goodness it seems like this thread is done. I have to say that these threads that are started with the intent to prevent and undermine the current DM testing leave me feeling wretched. For those that do this, may I suggest that you channel your energies more positively and constructively. I am so, so sorry for those who have been reading this who have DM dogs.

I  am glad it is done too. The cult behavior exhibited by participating people make me ill, even with evidence of the infallability  of this test brought to light. It doesnt make you question, it makes you circle the wagons. Waco texas.. cult thinking... Ta Ta I feel sorry for DM dogs too- people in the breed dont care enough about the truth to overcome their indoctrinations into the coates cult, subject of which has not even put the conflicting information re her test, for the world to see, on her website. She has it locked away - hidden! Worship your Golden calf- you dont have to answer to me...God be with you.... i  dont know how you can all look into your dogs eyes.. Yes, I am done- i wont waste my breath..

Beetree- as far as your nastiness concering my fundraising abilities, I never claimed to be a fundraiser or know anthing about it.  I did what I could- fundraising and grant writing are not my specialities. Trying to educate people is tough enough when they refuse to even question. but blindly follow like a pack of sheep.

Test away, people, but in this case you will not find the trtuh, sadly.

Talking with you about this Marjorie, is an extreme waste of typing. Continue with what you are doing, and you will continue to get the same results.

Which is by the way: NADA.

Not Nada BeeTree. My down dog was able to get around, albeit not well,  for about for a year  after she was down due to Dr Clemons. It you, and those like you who will have NADA, BeeTree...

by beetree on 13 April 2012 - 15:04

Are you being deliberately obtuse? I am talking about your so called research expertise and efforts to change the direction of DM studies. Seriously lacking.

Have a good day.

What dont you understand Beetree? Why do you keep harping on fundraising  with me????  I never clainmed to know anything about fundraising or raising research monies. YOU really dont get it, do you? I am only one person, as I said, and I run my support group and am caring for a dying dog. I am 67 yrs old and dont get to sleep until 3 am , many times, due to all the mail I receive from people asking for help.  I have had over 800,000+ visitors to my website, and nearly all of them contact me!!! @@ Shall I not sleep at all? Is that what would make you happy? I cannot do this alone and never claimed I could. I ask for help, try to point out the truth to get research going in the right direction , making people aware of the truth, and get slapped down by cults. Screw this shit! I know I have done everything in my power to make my dog live a good life. If you all choose to live in the clouds, so be it. I watched a down dog walk, whic made my heart sing. I know what COULD be accomplished with money going towards the right places, not to the AKC Good ole boys club or the OFA boys club- politicaslly, they are one and the same organization. If I ever get another dog, I will penn hip. I wil not support and organization controoled by politics. Now this thread is officially dead, to me.
