Memphis - the AVMA also receives very generous donations from Iams in many different charities, etc. (didn't I mention politics?)....also many AVMA conventions are sponsored by none other than....(betcha can't guess...) IAMS/Eukanuba. You could spend all day researching that one.

spooky1 - seriously investigate how to spell, too. I *****ENDORSE***** a lot of dogfoods that are WORTH backing and I've YET to get a check from ANY of them - nope, just a HAPPY HEALTHY GSD...which was the other POINT you missed in this post. Sheesh - I hope your dogs have as much civil agression as you do. >YIKES!<

I wish people would quit pointing out spelling or other writing mistakes. I know several intelligent very wealthy people who can't write that great. It is about Peta as they are known for being dis-honest and even a terrorist group. Why would you trust anything about these people?

What ever happened to BARF diets... you'd think more people would just do it.

You're right Ranger. GSDLVR got called out so he attacks something that is not relevant to the post. PETA is slime and what they do cannot be trusted.

You're right, DesertRangers - I apologize. I guess they hit a nerve. Because I loved animals so much, I volunteered at the Humane Society when I was 12 just to be around them and show them love and try to help. There were many nights my parents tried to get me to quit because of all the tears. I remember in just one day they put down 38 dogs and 48 cats and it CRUSHED me. I remember wandering around a corner and seeing them all lying dead on the floor lined up (just like the PETA video). You feel so helpless. The final straw was I had put a dog on hold to adopt and when my parents came to look, the euthanizer had "mistakenly" put him down. They couldn't explain why. The Humane society later found out that the person putting the animals down was marking dogs as having heartworms when they didn't really test positive just so that he could get rid of them. It was terrible. My parents MADE me quit after that. Years later, my heart still breaks for all the animals out there being mistreated and not having a fair chance to live. I think my motives are quite clear in the posting of this message. I don't want to see dogs suffer and I want them to have the best dogfood.

GSDLVR-Do you know how to spell phony?

BabyEagle4U

by BabyEagle4U on 01 November 2006 - 19:11

.. so that's why everyone thinks heartworms is common ... see doesn't the Humane Society have to keep records on dogs being put down and the reasons why? ...GSDlover, you said "The Humane society later found out that the person putting the animals down was marking dogs as having heartworms when they didn't really test positive just so that he could get rid of them." ... this is telling me that dogs are "put to sleep" because of heartworm positive. ... and this as a statistic in black and white is leading the public to think of an epidemic or "common thing" when it comes to dogs and heartworms. And it's not. This is what get's me mad. It's gotta be the moneys. The drug dealers are making heartworm moneys by the Humane Society "killing" saving themselves moneys. Thank goodness for the Native Indian Medicine Man.

MJ Memphis - of course the damn vet associations are going to side with Iams, they are bloody well in it together. You can hardly get in the surgery door these days for bags of Iams/Eukenuba etc, damn leaflets everywhere advertising pet insurance. The vets are promoting for these companies and you better believe it. There will be something in it for them. Dont be so bloody naive, these companies wont let something like the wellfare of animals get in the way of making money!!!!!

LEARN THE TRUTH http://www.uncaged.co.uk/iams.htm "Please note that everything that either Uncaged Campaigns or PETA has said about IAMS is based on documentary and/or video evidence. Make no mistake, if anything said about IAMS really was untrue or misconstrued, as IAMS would have you believe, we would have been sued and our websites taken down. We haven't." READ THE LAST SENTENCE, UNDERSTAND IT, DIGEST IT, CAREFULLY CONSIDER IT, AND THEN YOU WILL GRASP THE TRUTH
