What/who is your ISP? Are you on a slower connection?  I've heard of some that automatically don't display all images or don't fully load them because of speed/bandwidth issues.  Have you tried FireFox or Chrome?  IE has a bazillion weird security settings.

I have NEVER had a problem viewing photos on this site until Oli did the latest round of changes.

I currently cannot install updates from MS as I keep getting an error message. That's the only thing I can think of that might be causing a problem on my end.

Viewing photos on this site has been an ongoing problem, or Oli wouldn't have had to add a special button to the users' profile section. However, this is the first time the problem has hit me.

I have no problems seeing photos on other sites I visit, so I doubt it's my ISP.

I link to the net via a Roger's Fart Rocket Stuck...er, Stick, which works off the cellphone network. The thing is a terrible PITA, because I am right next door to the tower, and the trees on the property interfere with the reception. If the connection is slow, pictures load slowly, or I get an empty box. Never before has the picture just disappeared as if it's not even there!

I'd try something else and at least help narrow it down.  It could just be an IE issue.  I've seen this at work (I am a computer technician).  A previous version of our online web client required certain security settings in IE and then when a newer release was installed on our servers, those security settings that were previously required in order for things to display properly now caused things to NOT display.  I've never used IE with this site so I'm not sure what security settings are involved.  You could also try using the "httpS://...." (secure) version of the site Oli was advertising earlier and see if that loads better.  If your browser is set for a higher level of security perhaps it would be happier using the secure version.

LOL.  Sunsilver I can break that down if it doesn't make sense.  Basically what I'm saying is we can't blame the site without first ruling out the Internet Browser.  Even if the problems started when Oli made updates that still doesn't mean IE is not at fault.  IE settings that optimized viewing the forum before may now interfere with viewing the new version/security settings and that would be IE's fault, not PDB.

Pedigree pictures are blocked, too, just FYI.

Gotta forget about this: there's a kennel full of dogs out there that needs my attention, and I'm way behind on my chores!

VKGSDs, no , I understood you perfectly. It was another poster who said it all sounded like Greek.

I may try downloading Firefox if I have the time, but this is a very busy time of year for me.

Did you try and click on the little blue rectangle with the jagged line running across it? Says it can help with compatibility issues....?

Beetree, now you've got me! WHAT little blue rectangle? Where?

by beetree on 21 August 2012 - 22:08

The one in the picture....LOL, oh yeah, sorry forgot you can't see it, LOLOL. Anyway, don't you see it on the navigation bar to the right of the magnifying glass? It is more tall than wide and has a white jagged line going through it?
