If the Dam and Sire are both SchH3 titled, wouldnt that litter be more appealing than a SchH3 Sire and SchH1 Dam? From the last post I took that it really didn't seem to matter as long as the Female could produce to standards. To me a SchH3 Dam and Sire are far more attractive on the premise that the offspring may have a greater potential for SchH talent, or am I just "Ignorant"?

It's more appealing to me. But maybe I'm ignorant too, ha :) Exception for me, if I were looking, would be if I personally knew the bitch and knew without a doubt she could obtain a three and just took a break from training to have a litter. Really hard to tell that if you don't *know* the breeder though.

The titles may play a part in the selection, but ultimately I would choose the lines the dogs are out of...the bitches lines are very important to me.

Spook101,
Why is it that you pay more attention the females lines? I am still fairly new to all this and would like to get a variety of opinions to take into consideration in order to build my own method, view, opinion, or outlook.
Thanks everyone!

I think a lot of people tend to look harder at the male lines when picking a dog. I think the mothers background is as or more important. Just my opinion; I'm sure there are plenty who feel different.

Yes most people only worry about the sire when most pups tend to take more after the dam.

Yeah, this is something that Ive noticed and have wondered why for the longest time.

Also I believe the pups take after the dam more. I don't know why. The males are promoted more. I heavily look at the dam when considering a breeding or a purchase. Over again I see that a weak mother line may not produce what you hope for but of course I also have seen the opposite. I think all in all ,I consider the dam , 60% but again this is not a rule. Only my opinion at this time

Mom raises the pups, she is the one teaching them how to act and react. Mom is more important than dad and I know I will hear lots of "no ways" but it does make sense.

I consider it an honor to put a SchH3 on a female that is deserving of that title. The girls that I have done advanced titles on were worthy of the work and time. 'Do right by the dog..' means that you take them to their potential... I personally have seen SchH 3 females produce some very good working ability overall. Even in Germany, if the female is good, they will go to the trouble to take her to SchH 2 and / or SchH 3. Of course, if the titles are 'real' they mean a lot..
