Baby Rhino's love mud. I have proof for everyone!  Beau discovered where the water from all the snow melt was gushing out by our sump pumps. We aren't all in agreement, but we think he had plans for a nice shallow pond for lolly gagging away those warmer days ahead. He was busy at it all day. What an industrious worker, until I called quittin' time for the enterprising ditch-digger.
Omg Smile

The piece of white thing, at the right of the mud pit is the pvc pipe that spews the water.... and the rest... is all Rhino!

Serious business like this needs a good, mud wallowing face...but this next one, well, ... I don't think he cared one whit about the mess he was making to my floors!

Here's a muddy pawed, High-Five for ya'll!,  LOL

Oh, and Beau thanks eveyone for appreciating his rugged good looks, with his mesmerizing, Paul Newman eyes. LF, I am still trying to get some good close ups (with the good camera)... and you'll see how they still have blue on the inside, and that tawny gold, ringed on the outside.

More snow is on the way... I am happy to say... two dogs with muddy paws... well, I am going to have to come up with a rinsing station to combat the filth. DH threw some hay on the trench, but I think that will just be a new diversion? lol

LOL....at Beau.....he's very proud of himself isn't he.Devil Smile

Poor Bee.....Rose

I would block the area off from the dogs otherwise with them rooting around and digging.....it's going to mix the hay in.......which will turn to concrete once it dries....and be a real....B**** to get out.
Think about it......hay and mud are what adobe bricks are made from....and some people build houses with these bricks.Tongue Smile

Awwwwwwww my favorite man Rhino....LOVE, LOVE absolutely love mud pictures....this is great stuff for us..but so sorry about the mess, i can only imagine the clean up that had to take place..LOL..its not like you can hose him down in freezing temp.....LOL..thanks for sharing bee...truly appreciate all the updates!

P.S.
looking forward to see his gorgeous eyes...hmm..it would have been something to see his eyes shot from the time he was 8 weeks old...just to see the change of eye color as he grows up.

Springtime update, finally! He's almost 10 months old now.
First for you Lady Frost, I took this of his eyes moments ago...there is still that inside bit of blue, I know the clarity isn't so great, it was my iPad camera... I need the better camera.. one of these days!

Okay for fun springtime picures...

Notice the "excavation" to the left of the stone path, courtesy of "Digger", the baby rhino, on the right. I actually paid somebody to put that walkway there and the dirt around it, at one time! I am not sure what he is looking for, but he brought me a rigor-mortised tufted-titmouse the other day, just dropped it at my feet! I almost thought he might be taking lessons from the cat! He does quite well with my cat, surprise! And the cat doesn't mind him. It is just Mojo and the cat, that don't trust each other, and never have.

Look at his nice, clean white teeth from all those raw chicken bones! And hexe, if you are reading this, you were correct! Beau has developed a fondness for balls, and well, carrying anything will do, so long as it is in his mouth. He will retrieve, happily, and bring and release for me. Maybe not as fast as Mojo, but he is a most willing to please sort of guy. I think he is looking at his shadow in the picture above?

Both my dogs have the important duty of seeing the young kid off safely onto the school bus. This is what all the kids on the bus get to see every morning...

This is what I see at the moment! , lol,

It is moments like this our whole family is incapable of ignoring Beau. And invariably what springs to my mind is something Jackie H, (Kalibeck) said, "He's a hug waiting to happen!" Truer words have never been spoken!
He is such a distraction in that regard. LOL

He's got his good guard dog instincts going on here, some worker guys were making noise at the neighbor's... he just decides to check it out! What a good dog doing, a good job.

Oh and lastly... after all the mock battles my two boys engage in, in the end they are good buds who like to hang out together, just keeping an eye out on the homestead, keeping the peace and the riff-raff, out! LOL

Happy Springtime, everyone....Regular Smile

WooHoooo!!! update!!! LOL

Love, love, love his eyes, not only because of the unique color but they are sooo expressive, his whole smiling face makes everything light up..LOL.. Looks like his fur color has not changed much but he sure has grown up....still has that puppy expression and stance but on a much bigger scale...Just think he still has 2 more years of "filling out" to go you gonna have a miniature pony by the time he is 3..LOL.

LOL about the cat....our cat brings her semi- kill to dogs and leaves it by the fence (gate), if they can reach it they get to play with it....my husband says "oh, look she brought them toy"...I say "Oh, look your cat is trying to poison my dogs"..and so on....speaking of your cat, any more bathtub kills?..LOL..i still get a kick out of it every time i remember the story..lol

as always it is ABSOLUTE PLEASURE seeing updates on Beau...thanks bee!! you just made my day!

P.S.
your back/front yard is gorgeous, love tulips (my favorite flower)...reminds me of some back yards I seen on http://www.houzz.com/photos/outdoor
some great ideas there....

He's looking good, Bee. He seems like a very perceptive dog, you are lucky you adopted him. He will grow larger because he was neutered at a very young age. My first GSD weighed 126 and he was not fat. Glad to see he and Mojo are getting along so well.
