ANA, 7 or 8 wks, WHAT ????? How old were they when they left you ???? My Gawd, our pups do not leave our home until they have passed 9 wks. Are microchipped before they ever leave, and we are second contact. Ana If I may say so , Seriously you have some learning to do, I hope I am not offending you with that as it's not my intention to do so, But it is very evident that is some learning to be done here, BEFORE MORE BAD DECISIONS ARE MADE !!!!! Also if that is your business partner posting on here as well, I would say to him/her, You need to check the reins on this girl and whoa back her a few steps before you go on to full spins. Again, just my opinion.

PaulG and PUCCIK9 (and I guess there are others).... In all the years I've done this, I've never been required to sign a contract for stud services or had any stipulations placed upon the puppies that I will be raising .. All of the dogs I've used have been pretty widely known and so were their owners, obviously. I can also understand everyone wanting to do the right thing and be responsible.... I believe in the same thing.. My puppy sales contract is available on my website and anyone can look at it, I will establish the guidelines by which I sell my puppies.. I simply wouldn't use a dog whose services were tied up in a contract like this .. the bitch is mine.. I care for her, I was the one up for 12 hours (+/-) whelping puppies, I am the one monitoring everything from birth on and doing the cleaning, feeding, handling puppies etc and I'm the one whose house is opened up to weekly visitors who help us with socializing and I'm the one who has to screen everyone who wants one of MY puppies. Don't get me wrong, I love doing these things.. otherwise I wouldn't be involved in this... The only way this would be different is if I owned the stud dog as well..... or my business partner did ..

Martin Donaldson, This is why I hate email, I like to talk about things like this face to face.. you read way more into my post than was necessary and made it a personal attack I'm having a really hard time with your post to me .... I, too have been doing this for a good number of years .. maybe not 30, guess I finally have found that person older than me (it was a joke!!).. but close to 25 anyway. Just so you know I have also been training and competing in numerous sports and venues.. as well as breeding. My house is one of those that has multipled titled dogs but we didn't start them all at the same time. They are all different ages ranging from 7 months to 9 1/2 years. It has been my experience that a good number of puppies go into pet homes, not necessarily SchH homes and that is the train of thought I was traveling on... I'm not going any further with this, it went so far off the original post once you started ranting and throwing out insults left and right. Just so uncalled for....

Reading this has made my day. As wierd as that sounds. I am amazed to hear how so many people care so much about there dogs. Like I said I am knew to this site but I am her to learn as much as I can because I truly love this breed. I am not a breeder but I have to say it puts a smile on my face to hear almost everyone comment on the dogs and what they are going to face. I volunteer at an animal shleter and I am constantly reminded of what poor breeding does to animals. There are so many things that I don't belive in when it comes to breeding because of this. I truly belive that many of you on this site are truly concerned about, not the money, but the puppies and the puppies welfare only. It is the few of you that make breeding ok. ANA I don't understand your decision because these are situations that make me hate the people who breed, but I do have to thank you. Your decision has shown me the love and compassion that some of these people have for thier dogs and thier pups. To me thier is nothing I would want more for christmas. Thank you and Happy Hollidays to all.

ANA your puppies have been resold, there is no way the entire litter will make good security and PP dogs. maye one or two. And unless this person has tapped the high end PP market, or is a good con, it will be hard to recover such an investment. im not sure it make financial since too buy the entire litter. he could have easily purchased young dogs for $1000, or picked up puppies for 500-800 dollars. im sure the female and male are great, but it doesnt make any since. if i had to guess, he had people already waiting to buy your puppies for about $2000.

I think this is a hoax, but if it's not what happened to the attitude on this board that, "this is America and a breeder can do whatever they want"?

by Blitzen on 25 December 2006 - 16:12

Spook, she asked the opinion of the posters to this board and she got it. Not sure why anyone would even ask such a stupid question on a board dedicated to the welfare of the GSD. What did she think she was going to hear? Way to go? I too think this is a hoax, it makes no sense at all.

I have been reading this over and I have to ask, why is it so bad to have more than one puppy? When I breed my dog, if I do not find buyers that pass my expectations, all the puppies will stay with me. Will I be harming them by not letting them go? I will not produce a litter without the expectation of keeping them, because they will not be just sold off to anyone that happens to have the cash. My thought was that if it happened, I would keep and train the litter and maybe home them as titled adults. Either way, I do not think that I would want to see them in a less than ideal or challenging environment just because it was easier for me. Lorri

if you keep more than one of the litter, they just need to be kept separate except for play-time, trained separate, fed separate, and not allowed to live/bond together. molly
