A nasty infection setting in would be karmic. I think vk4 should be his own lawyer, he is just so clever, all the judges will be awed. If not awed, he should just bring more rum to hand out.

When people are reacting to a violent, sudden act, like a dog fight, sometimes we don't stand back and say to ourselves, "what is the safest, most logical way to go about this..?"  We just react suddenly, wanting to stop the act.. I've been bit by a Chihuahua, while removing it's head from my dog's mouth.. Dealing with animals, unpredictable stuff is going to happen.. And it is not that hard for another dog to kill a dog, I've seen it happen quickly, especially when it's an unfair match.. Also, I believe  VK4gsd has other breeds of dogs, I believe some type of hunting Curr or Catahoula, which would be considered a game dog.. I don't know why people get on and call people names and mess with them, when they are asking for advice.. ?

easy, cos they are bored and act like there is a reward for finding fault in others. you will notice the same fault finders and questioners rarely start their own threads. they al got PhD in geo-physics they way they can see a fault 1 mile underground, like to have em on a leash and take em prospecting.

erin j, a hunting dog of any type would never ever be considered a game dog. The term "game" or "gameness" is very misunderstood and misused, as it has been in this thread.

by vk4gsd on 04 September 2013 - 22:09

well i used it the way i meant it, i can't encompass every local and cultural variation - as it's my thread i get the upper hand, if you didn't get a meaning you could ask for clarification instead of assuming and being confrontational...just sayin

FYI a gamey dog or a game dog where i am from has nothing specifically to do with organized dog fighting if that what you are referring to. those idiots should all be locked up in prison with a brain damaged psycho lifer who loves animals.

I've never heard the term game dog till I moved to Alabama, there are a lot of hunting currs, and bully type dogs that are used for hunting in this region.. People use the term game dog describing them.. Maybe it is a term used differently in different dog circles and regions? I'm not an expert in dog terminology, by any means, but I've heard the term game dog referring to hunting dogs.. Who knows if the term was used correctly or not.. LoL

Game or Gameness is a quality of fighting dogs or working terriers that are selectively bred and conditioned from a very early age to develop traits of eagerness despite the threat of substantive injury. Dogs displaying this trait can also be described as persevering, ready and willing, full of fight, spirited, or plucky.[1]

Found this description, which could e used to describe a "catch" type of hunting dog.. Or a hunting dog that has huge drive to take down, and catch it's prey..?
