I have a german bitch with a german pet passport, she has now completed the pages for flea treatment and worming, what do I do now, do I get a new uk passport or can I just get an updated uk one. Thank you.

She may come to the UK if her blood tests have been done and she is chipped after 6 months from the date of the Rabies injection First the dog must be chipped then rabies vaccinated 14 or 28 days after the rabies the blood titre levels must be done at a recognised laboratory if OK the 6 months from the date of the vaccination is when the dog may enter GB.As long as everything is done correctly then your Euro. passport is OK no need for another The tick and flea treatments are done 24 hours before travel and not more than 48 hours

The 6 months starts from the date when the blood is taken not when the vaccination is given, the dog could have been vaccinated many times prior to blood sample being taken.

thanks guys, the bitch is already passported and here in the uk, she has been traveling with me recently when i noticed that the two pages of her german passport for flea and wormers were full (they only give you 3 lines) she is going to the vet in the morning for her rabies booster but didnt know if she had to go back to germany to get a new passport or if I have to start a brand new one here and if so can I just get a new one as she has the original passport giving titre leves etc, or do they add pages to the existing one, I am due to travel with her in Feb and need to get this correct for border control at the french ports.

you have to get a new one, either here or Germany but the UK ones have more spaces for tick and worm treatment so may be more cost effective to put her onto a UK one, that is what we have done.

thanks carol, do i have to start the whole process again or will they just issue a new uk passport? Sorry for all the questions, but just noticed the full pages and realised I am getting short of time.

they will just issue a new one, transferring the details from the German one, some vets will require the actual rabies titre certificate so helps if you have it, if not get it from the German vet.

phew thanks for that I'll see what the vet says tomorrow.
