Is the Von Arlett Kennel still in business and breeding? I know that breeders are very busy, and I have e-mailed,(last week), but no reply. Is it better to call?

I am not saying this is the case, but some breeders will not email you back because they have intention to sell to you. I just bought a pup from a very well known working line breeder in Germany. It went great, always responded to me, emails back and forth...but there were 2 kennels that I never heard back from. I asked a friend of mine to contact them for me and I was told they do not sell to the USA. Shawn

Try again. Maybe your mail drop in junk mail folder or they are busy.

I'm not saying this is the case either, but you will notice some top kennels put a layer between the dogs they sell and the public. The best dogs go to friends and associates in the breed. The average dogs are wholesaled to others. This gets the less desirable pet quality pups to pet homes and saves the breeder from dealing with people that may ultimately be a pain to deal with. Many of the top breeders and judges do not rely on dogs as an income. Unknown people are not often easy to deal with and if there is a misunderstanding, some of the top kennels may not want to be flamed on the next episode of the PDB soap opera over a 600 euro puppy.
