Hello from Brooklyn NY

I am new to the site and could use some counsel on two fronts. First helping narrow what the best dog for me and two it seems that everyone has "champion lines", what am I missing?

A little intro, Family of 5, kids getting older, wife works from home, I am looking to have some me things to do. Have always had dogs including shepherds. Started working with a "working line  about 6 years ago, but i did not do my homework, but loved the work and wanting to get back and looking for the best dog for me/us. I say me/us because, I dont live by myself. We also have a male lab now thats 5 years old.

Looking for a DDR or czech line to do IPO and protection work. Dog must be sound, smart and driven. I once saw someone say, dog must be able to work in a ring with spirit , but also walk around children in a play ground. I know there is a lot of work that goes into that dog, but it seems finding a great line helps. I could use some recommendations. My concern is everyone has a champion line, really!

We plan on getting proffesional training help for both me and the dog, started talking to the people at Logan Haus Kennel,( any thoughts).

Thank you
