Not sure if my dog is a GSD like I was told - Page 9

There's a dog I sometimes meet on a walk, I queried it's breeding when I asked if it was a GSD x Mal. The owner got most snotty with me saying it was a full GSD. The dog was only about 10 months old in this picture but dwarfed my 'big' GSD. Next time I saw the bloke he actually had the KC 5 gen pedigree with him. It appeared to be all in place. The mum of the dog was a traditional b/t and the dad was blonde coloured.

The pics were about 3 years ago.

Looks like a GSD to me, just a washed out colour, it happens.

I can see from her 2nd pic why Spooks thought that dog had some Malinois in him;

I would have said the same.  I have seen a few dogs I knew to be 'pure ' GSD with

very pale washed out colours;  I have also seen many Black Masked Golden GSDs,

where they would have been black saddled except for some genetic quirks of pigment.  

Some were sold to their owners as that new and rare form, the "Golden Shepherd"  [!].

But the head on that dog posted by Spooks screams Maligator at me.  Presumably

the increased size would then be down to 'hybrid vigour'  as well as / or  due to deliberately

using an outsized GSD parent (or two) ?

None of the dogs shown here are true specimens of the German Shepheds breed. They may well have papers but other than that they represet the low end as far as the standard is concerned.

None  ?   On the photos on this page ?  On the whole thred ?  On the PDB ?

As posters' avatar pics ?   Please explain, Ron Hudson  (and while you are at

it, try to spell the breed's name correctly, huh ?

Wow..... I was just curious what others thought my dog looked like as far as GSD or Mali.... 

As for bzcz, you sound like an arrogant one that thinks very highly of yourself, more so than what most others think of you.  I do hope that, in the future, you think before you post your comments or at least reread them.  Are they hurtful, nasty, humiliating to others?  If yes-than don't post them.   It doesn't take any more effort to be a nice person than it does to be a pompous, condescending, know it all...  Try it.. 

I also did not ask if he was a GOOD bred dog, just wondering if others thought he looked GSD, and from others' posts and pictures here, I can see that he does resemble many GSDs..  I am not concerned if he doesn't look like the "standard" GSD.  I am not a "standard" person.  There is not a day that goes by that someone doesn't comment on what a beautiful dog he is.   I am very well aware he was a back yard breeder's dog..  But ya know what??  I don't care.. I am not breeding him or showing him.  I like to think I rescued him from someone else that would not have put as much love, time, effort, and money into him.  We have spent a lot on personal trainers for him and I don't regret it at all.   He is a family pet that is loved by us and he returns that love.

No one says I have to be nice.  I have to be honest. You don't like honesty? Not my problem in the least.

LOL at the know it all,  I'm constantly learning and working at getting better and that comes from listening to others and trying it for yourself.

bzcz....i am waiting for a day when you literally going to type... "my dick is bigger than yours" based on this thread alone you are getting very close...just seems a lot of effort trying to prove something ....i guess it is all about the size...LOL

Maybe you'd like to answer the questions that I asked over a week ago and nobody answered.

Glad to see you could take her advice as well.  And for the record, if you think I'm going to apologize for offering my opinion when asked, I wouldn't hold my breath. 

But hey, it's a free forum keep up with the constructive criticism, maybe it'll get you somewhere someday.
