The biggest complaint at the show was from the foreign handlers and owners............

They all said the same thing - its pointless to have 3 small siegers shows, there is no real champion in America. They feel we Americans are petty, arogant and too political because we have 3 shows. They also mentioned that people from other countries laugh at us at because of this.

Sitasmom:  If you are referring to my post, I don't think I was criticizing.  My post was more of an observation and inquiry.  Like I said, if the Willendorf dogs were really that good then they have my highest praise.

I agree two shows would be plenty and I suspect both WUSV member clubs will continue to hold shows. Strange that there should be a question about a real American Champion.  It seems that there is a real champion for America.  Nino v. Tronje was Sieger at both shows held by bona fide member clubs of WUSV. He beat all comers at the two largest shows (USCA and GSDCA) in this country and was without a question the best at both. We all recognize that there are some very good dogs in this country who chose, for whatever reason,  to not challenge Nino in either of the WUSV member shows.

I think you are right with your comment about a lot of people will be changing their memberships.  The new club with the WUSV agreement but not membership will have to seek members from somewhere.

well, we do lots of things to be laughed at.  We kill ourselves daily with crappy food, cigarettes and booze and freak out over Ebola.  We used to turn out stars like Judy Garland and Shirley Temple, now we give the world Honey Boo Boo and the Kardashians and American's eat that crap up like it means something.  Large groups more concerned with being "right" than doing right.  Corporations are now "people", money now has no obstacles to elections and politics, and on and on, but i'm not sure having 3 seiger shows ranks too high on the list, but to each their own.

and 3 Seiger shows is good here, for those that consider them the "champion" now they can have 3 and market puppies accordingly.  Or they can merge all 3 small ones, and have one small one instead.  I guess I've never cared what a dog won.  I mean it says something about the owners, whether its dock diving to Seigers to club IPO to the world stage, somebody has been doing work with their dog and that is good.  I'd say that's the best thing, get a dog and do something with it.  But I know what I like in a dog, just like everyone else and our priorities are different.  Win all 3 Seiger shows or none, it won't make much difference to me.  I may or may not like anything about the dog :)

God, why can't GSD people work with each other rather than against? Does anyone really wonder why few stick around long?

SitasMam,im not sure if you were watching the open class males carefully because there was no lead changes .My dog Belmondo von Koriser See came second after the standing, but when they start running the judge move him to first place at second corner, and he never lost the first position right to the end.He just blew away rest of the field, and he was never really challenge by any of the competitors. Some of the spectators and breeders came to me after that and said is too bad he is not title yet, because he would have a chance to place very high in working class males.I think next time i would suggest to pay little more attention what is going on in the ring.Going back to the working class females is no question in my mind that John's females were the best in the group.John is know as of breeding the best females in USA and i don't think anyone can challenge him now.I think the judges did very good job and i don't even feel angry whe one of the judges move my female in puppy class from 10 place to last because she run off the ring and i have to chased her to bring her back to the ring,Rules are rules and i agree with the judge.

The males i think too many got VA title,i think only first 4 or 5 deserve to be VA,but this is my point of view and many can desagree with me.

hexe how often do you get to a show?  I know there isn't much going on around Alpena.  But I'm sure the shows you have been to you have seen the same thing I and everyone else has.  you see some go up and you say yep and then something goes up and you wonder if the judge is looking at the same dog you are.  But that is why you have several judges and not just one person judging  every dog and every show.  If I load up a show with lots of good dogs I probably am going to increase my chances of doing well.  especially if of the quality his are.  I mean if you want to critique a specific dog out there I would be more then glad to listen to your break down on why one particular dog should be ranked lower then one it was above.

Just go by numbers can be very misleading.

After all this, I'm considering hosting my own, invitation only Sieger show for my dogs. They're all champions in my eyes... especially the Jack Russell! You should see that little tyke dangling off a sleeve, buzzing like a chainsaw, and refusing to let go until aus'd Wink Smile
