Live bites prove nothing. I already know that they will bite under the circumstances of training and testing in the training that you see in most videos. The pattern starts well before the dog is on the field. Even before you begin your ritual of getting ready for training.

Ano note for the green. In real situation it's not just the dog you are fighting.

I wrote this in small parts as to not overwhelming anyone but you in particular.

To clear up one thing here - Hans one of the main reasons you opened your forum was because we would not allow you to advertise your website here on every post you made.

Yes that was one of the issues here indeed. However I also had other reasons to open my forum not related to anything on PDB. I would like to say that I like PDB for what it is mainly it's pedigrees. It is tremendous service and the website with it's forum needs to be supported for benefit of dogs and people who own and work with them. I may have been discontent with some issues here but in the end that always was my baseline feeling.

Here is a excerpt from a article posted by Koots :
5) Evaluation of Potential Service Dogs - Putting a muzzle on a potential service dog, then testing his reactions, will provide additional information about the dog to the evaluator. If the dog performs strongly under these conditions, it gives a truer picture of the dog's character. This is one possible way of determining whether a dog has a natural confidence or has developed confidence through training under known conditions.

Koots, just read the article written by Brian Amm - very good read ( and a lot of memories for me - I had the pleisure to visit Stukenbrock twice, but that´s off topic, I guess, and there is no video Shades Smile  ).

"Structured" training for muzzle work, and, holy shit, it´s "for free", written by a guy, who knew his business - now think about the differences described in the article, and shown in the "training" vids ...

- making the dog used to the muzzle
- structured on leash training
- the dog always wins
- teaching the dog how to target

Sounds different than the routine we are able to see in the training vids, but sums up almost everything already mentioned, and belittled as "sportism", "trolling", and so on ( not going to repeat the less pleasant expressions, either made on this board or via PMs ).

Trouble, you "enjoyed" to read the article - so you should start to think about the training you are actually part of.

Before I forget again: JMO

Sportism is not belittling. Sportism is the way some train dogs where trainer is linearly transforming the dog from prey sport to civil protection by channeling from defense of equipment to the man. It is legitimate way. I have trained that way for decades and I still train some dogs that way for some clients.

Trolling is what you are doing. ;) Your post above is a prime example of that.

@troublelinx, the fact you believe you have nothing to prove to anyone is the problem with dog training and breeding "experts."

I'll make this really simple for you and ask this very simple question. Why should I, or anyone else, believe what you or Prager claim, when you are unwilling to provide proof?

It's a simple question but I have a feeling you'll find it very difficult to answer.

Oh, and before you try and twist this by redirecting it at me and asking me to prove my credentials, I'll openly admit I am not an expert and I am not claiming any credentials that I want others to believe based on something I typed.

This is something newbies need to take note of. Someone who CLAIMS to be an expert will tell someone who ADMITS to not being an expert that he doesn't need to take his critiques and questions seriously. See how they find a way out of having to prove themselves? That's what you have troublelinx doing. He is being condescending in order to not have to prove his claims. The thing is, if you read that muzzle training article and see how he "trained" that dog it's obvious he was not doing it properly.

All training is sport. Think about it.
