Don Corleone

by Don Corleone on 29 April 2007 - 18:04

I recieved a phone call from some internet phone service. The lady asked if I have ever used this service. I answered no and she explained it to me. The person types and she reads it to you. You respond and she types to the caller. I assumed the caller was deaf or had speech problems. I e-mailed the Caller and gave him all the litter info. He e-mailed back that he was sending a check, which I was to cash immediately. I was to take my share and Western Union the remainder to his "shipper" who was going to come to my door, finalize paperwork, pick the puppy up, and ship it to him. I sent an e-mail back explaining that I was unsure about it and that it smelled fishy. I told him not to send anything until he answered some of my questions. Nevertheless, I never heard back from him.

Don - I had this happen to me on several occassions when I placed my pups for sale. IT IS CONCIDERED INTERNET FRAUD..and there is something you can do about it. Go to this web site and file a complaint. I'm actually surprised that they gave up so easily for you...even after telling 2 people in these emails that I would not sell them a dog, they sent bogus checks! LOL www.ic3.gov Good Luck. Chrissy

I ran into the same deal when selling a saddle mule. Amazing and funny how many try that scam. Sad at how many still fall for it.

There was a website or something on the internet where some woman played these jokers for about a month. it was quite interesting reading the e-mails between her and the crooks. If anybody remembers what site that was on Please post it. Dave

I got one like that about a year ago. Never responded to the request for info. It smelled fishy from Minute One. SS
