What I mean by that? is they are a bit slower, but they still can/could compete/perform well "Eastern European lines Shepherds performing well in those video clips"

Agility and speed is part of it. If they cant keep up then that is a fault. a fault in herding, apprehension, etc.... so therefore they can not do there jobs more profficiently than breed standard size dogs.

foundations for the breed are agility, speed, durability, not to mention all the mental portions.

3 of those are decreased by increasing there size you loose in all three catagories. So if they cant maintain all working ability at a higher level than my own dogs i will not purchase one as I consider them useless in the working facit.

yeah you can say there not useless, you can use them for property protection, companion, minimal level titles/sport. But if they cant keep up in all facits with breed standard dogs why do you want one? if you are truely a person who works or uses working dogs why would you want something that is lesser in any category for there purpose? they have a distinct disadvantage under the breed standard size working dog. i will continue working with the dogs that brings the most to the table for the job assigned. AND THAT IS THE BREED STANDARD SIZE DOGS!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! The logic is their!!!!!!! yoshy

If you need a dog for the specific task, you will select the best size "Such as standard size" that will serve your need!
That's why we have Show line and Working line GSD's as well beside the Giant size.

my 84 pound male does just fine protecting my property.. truthfully he does hell of a job. My 63 pound female is one feroushious looking dog behind the fence.. no need for bigger.(she is too young to know she means it   LOL) The small once are doing just fine..and they run faster so they can actually catch somebody.

Love them the way they are. bigger is too slow and too much food. I dont see a 120 pound dog doing up and down those stairs and obstacles, jumping over furniture on buildng searches. My dogs can do it all and fast I like that. Actualy my 84 pound dog is little slow for my taste.

Go and train your dogs Shtal, to prove that you are not just talking into the wind. Nice list of people you dislike up there.. I wonder who else will make it to the list after this post.

anyway I have some tracking to do today it is a beautiful day and the dogs need to work.

I was just thinking if I could put my males drives and willingness to work into a smaller body...good help me I will have the ultimate GSD that can do it ALL!

their is no logic for a larger dog. where is your logic? in any task. like i said before show me a task the larger dog can
do more efficiently than my 85lb boy.

With proper trainning "as those russian video clips above" Larger dog has advantage of his size to knock down a large human on the ground and large human has less chance running away or killing the large dog.

This makes me happy because it's official standard size vs. what people think.....
Origin: This breed was created in 1930 as a working dog adapted for service in the Army and for agriculture needs in various climatic conditions. The East European Shepherd was created from the German Shepherds. The first standard which formed the breed type was approved in 1964 by the Cynologic Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR.
I like both sizes, Giant and Regular size. Each person prefer what they like. That is all.

Take care everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
