I,m not one to stir shit normally, and slate me back if ye like, but i was told the result of this show last sunday, and got a email yesterday telling me not to bother going that the winner was already picked,

And for all the world to see the prediction was right, Do these judges relise people train hard, and it cost money to show dogs,

I was at the show yesterday and would have to say I enjoyed the Judge and thought his critique's were excellent very, very straight and pulled no punches, if your dog had a fault he let you know!

However based on this and his own critique's some of the placings were a little odd to say the least,
Its week in week out ,seems to be the nature of the game good dogs been knocked over weaker one's just because of who does or does not own them it's a pity.
The only way to change things is to encourage more , new people to get involved and raise the entry levels shake it up a little! either that or have a show of hands from the ringside.... or a clapometer to deside the winners ha ha!

Having said all that most placings I thought were correct bar one or two, well done to all who participated.

In response to Mr Duggan and his comments on result and him supposedly being told a week earlier.
How did he know what dogs where entered as catologue not out until day of show?
What if the so called sure thing had been injured the night before and wasn't at the show?
Or is this just sour grapes off Mr Duggan?
As being at the show myself yesterday, the comments at ringside were he was not taking his dog anyway, due to past results he'd had with him there.

(Tianomie)

If you where at the show yesterday you would i'm sure know me on a first name basis, My dad is Mr Duggan.
second you are right it is sour grapes/bitter been even a better word, I knew posting this I was putting myself on the firing line, but its time to take some sort of a stand,

My past results with my dog
1;  Irish Sieger he was  VA1 SIEGER
2: All Ireland german shepherd club.  withdrawn threw injury to both dog and handler
3: 2 day national, Open dog and best male CC winer
as the song goes 2out of 3 not bad

(madwoman) is this my wife

been in or there would not have made a difference,

I don't want to drag down the work or commitment that was put into the running of the show as I know most of the people that run this on a personal basis, and I know are honest people, I just want to see honest judges to make it better for us all, and give every one a fair shot.

We all train hard and spend money to show our dogs. Did anyone moan when you won at the 2 day show? We were told the result a week before the show, so whats new. Why should we not enter under a judge who has already rated the dog in Uk winning a strong class and RCC. We would have been mad not to have given it a go, spending our money and our time training(No different to the 2day show for yourselves)
You probably had the information from the same person who told us not to go to Ireland as it was a done deal Solo was going to win. Just someone who likes to cause trouble. We will never now as madwoman said, you have to be in it to win it , your choice not to show the dog.
As for the judge Mr Christensen you either love him or hate him, he does his own thing and is always fair, you should now this from his previous appointments in Ireland.
Our dog is a good honest type who has won consistanly at Champ show here in UK and Ireland. Sg1 Irish Sieger Show 2007 Young Male Class Herr Wilfried Scheld. V4 Adult Male UK Sieger Helmet Buss. He has 4RCC from a handful of shows. Win or lose we always take the best dog home.

Hi Rob,

I met and spoke to you at the show on Sunday, and congratulated you on your Green star and best of breed win (You may remember me I'm very handsome!)
As I said in my original post I enjoyed the show and for the most part agreed with some of the placings.
You are correct in what you say we all train hard and spend money to show our Dogs and like to see our dogs do well especially in the big shows where if we were to be true to the breed all the best dogs should be there and exhibited for all to enjoy. None more so than Kenneth Duggan who is very highly thought of by his peers in the GSD circle in Ireland and the UK. Ken is and has always been an industry of information and advise to myself and most people who have had any dealings with him all unbiased advise too as he would often refer people onto other breeders if he thought that they had something better to offer someone looking for a "show type pup".
Ken and Paul Reilly brought Solo Vom Kottersbusch to Ireland earlier in the year, firstly as a dog to campaign in Ireland and Internationally, and secondly to help improve the breed in Ireland for anyone who had the sense to use this superb male who's likes has never been seen here before.
Ken took his dog to the 2 day (not knowing the judge in any shape or form)and up to 1 hr before the show he was still undecided as to whether or not he would show him. He entered him into a very strong class of dogs with some of the finest UK champions and won fairly because he was the best dog on the day. This is the reason why people had said he was going to win and why nobody moaned.
You have a nice dog and an honest dog as you said and he would have deserved to come in the top 4 in his class last Sunday, and I have to admire your confidence in him bringing him to compete in a class against one of the best dogs ever within the British Isle's especially as he had beaten all the dogs that had prevented your dog from his CC's?
Based on this result can we look forward to seeing you competing here more often?

As I said I spoke to you on Sunday and found you and your party to be very nice people this post was never directed at you but a stand needs to be made or the breed is in trouble and the people who are trying to develop and nurture it by bringing all these imported dogs here are being knocked for their efforts instead of complimented.
