Has anyone ever thought of or posted before the possibilities of entering the Address,Phone #'s and e-mail addresses for listed kennels...this would be very very helpful in locating and contacting a kennel for more information...if these kennels are ligit then they wouldn't mind and maybe would even help these kennels do business...any information on this subject would be helpful...

I don't think you have to submit your personal private information to millions of people to be considered "legit". People could for the love of money submit their info also.....does that make them legit? No. I am not sure that everyone will give out a personal phone number on the internet to open the floodgates of phone calls at all hours of the day or night(different time zones around the world). The real nuisance in this, is the people that will call repeatedly to let you know how knowledgeable they are and how much experience they have knowing full well they are not interested in purchasing an animal. Most people have jobs, families and their own GSD responsibilities, that keep them busy as heck. Mulitiply that by the number of countries, different time zones, and pettiness(animosity among a few) you find here, at times, and it could be a real "animal house", if you are on the receiving end of those phone calls. Word of mouth gets around and if you are interested in a specific kennel, you can eventually get there.

most ligit kennels and some non lagit kennels do post thier personal phone numbers when they have a website. But I don't recommend the address. I came home to a guy standing on my porch one night and he was angry because I wasn't home and he wanted to look at my dogs. And that AKC had a list of things that good breeders do and they said to drop by and not call ahead so that he could see what the condition of my kennel was. Needless to say I called the police because he would not leave and it was 10pm and I am a single woman with a small child. very scary. After that I took off my address and only have my business number on there.

Your phone number is all that is needed to do a Google search that will yield your address and a map of your neighborhood. I'd suggest you check this out for yourself by doing a Google search using your phone number. If you want, you can request that Google remove your information from their site and they are legally bound to do so. There are other websites that sell personal information and they advertise that they can do a search using a listed phone number (which any of us could do if we know where to look) as well as a SS number, a cell number or an unlisted phone number. Scary, eh? You might be OK if you have a rural address, but anyone with a street addy can easily be tracked down. Is there any wonder that identity theft is on the rise? Most of us would be better off with a PO box I think.
