Yes and this CH show judge  Mr Brandon also chairman of the UK club and south Yorks i'm sure many people do not know know that when his dogs die for what ever reason they are left in a freezer  for what ever length of time he then  skins them disects them boils the bones so they are clean and uses them in the seminars when he talks about bone structure, this is not just adults but also puppies ,this is a man who loves our breed which ever side of the fence you stand this is never right.

Please tell me that I only imagined I just read that? WTF.

by Goldie12 on 09 July 2010 - 17:07

Well Linedancer I to have heard this, and I have no doubt that this, is infact what he does with his much loved family pets !!!!!!!!
Can you believe what some people will do to their animals, hardly bears thinking about does it.
Thanks for that information, im sure more will come.

That makes me feel sick

by bazza on 10 July 2010 - 17:07

Sick, yes, and totally speechless. How can anyone do this to their supposedly beloved companions. Maybe I'm just a sentimental old fool!!! Thank the Lord if I am, as this is disgraceful.

 This man is a monster

by Trotters123 on 10 July 2010 - 17:07

Please don't attack me here

But , If done for the right reasons and the bones are used in an educational term then I cannot see a problem with exhibiting bones of dogs or puppies or any animal to teach.

If however, it is more morbid and just simply for sick reasons then this is wrong.

I am in full agreement that education is important and without bones, cadavers etc we would learn nothing.

Frank,i would agree with yu if it was being done by a VET.i,m all for further advancement in the understanding of the science of medecine and surgery.one only has to watch the program that is on BBC1 at the mo.THE BIONIC VET.i would also allow the removal of any organ etc for transplant to another dog if required BUT anowner freezing his supposedly loved pet,and then bringing them out as required for HIS seminars.i for one have NEVER seen a seminar advertised anywhere given by Mr.Roy Brandon.maybe someone can enlighten me.Carole Spelman.

by Trotters123 on 10 July 2010 - 19:07

Carole I personally have never attended nor have heard of any of his seminars.

I believe strongly in the advancement of any animal. If the origanators of Autopsy were stopped then we never have learnt anything about the human body! To freeze someone you loved and cared for was the norm and standard practise as cadavars were not available, unless you body snatched!
I would have not problem in freezing an animal I had loved and owned if it helped for the future but I do have a problem with doing this if for no reason other than self gratification.
As I said, I have never heard of his seminars nor seen them advertised so maybe there is a little morbidity in this. I can't judge as I do not know the actual facts and can only state what I feel.

I have to agree that if done by a proffessional ie a vet, then it is acceptable as I believe it would be done with dignity. To be carried out by someone who has as much compassion as a gnat, absolutely NOT. He would of course tell you it was for educational purposes,  why then has there been no seminars taken by him for a very very very long  time.
Surely such items as hips and the corresponding bones would be available from a vet or one of the training university's to loan for such events as seminars.
At least then we would all hope that all the correct compassion and skill would have been evident at the dissecting of the dog.
Skinned, cut up and dissected by this individual is unethical and totally wrong.
But then how does he keep his animals !!!!
His true belief is that you cannot have a show dog and a pet in the same animal, so that will tell you how very little he thinks about his dogs. If it isn't a show dog, get rid, if you can't breed from it, get rid. mmmmmmmm
