Received the following email: (permission to post given)
Just had a quick read of your article on the Kennel Club Accredited Breeders Scheme.
I was told in January by the Kennel Club that I was no longer a member of the scheme after a visit from xxxxxx one of their advisers, reasons given were: (1) Not giving out their wallets with the questionnaire. (2) Not giving written information about socialisation, exercise, future training, breed traits and tendencies to the new puppy owners.
xxxxxx saw my dogs, all my records from 1989, hip and elbow score sheets, haemophilia results for any males I'd had tested. xxxxxx also saw Breed Survey and Good Citizen Award Certificates. I told her that when a puppy is sold the purchaser went away with registration papers, 5 generation pedigree, diet/information sheet, a puppy pack and that the pup had been vet checked, micro chipped and given it's first vaccination, but that didn't seem to be of any importance to her, she was only concerned with the ABS wallet and the questionnaire.
I did tell her that the kennel club didn't have a chance of getting the questionnaire back as most of the pups have never been transferred out of my name, even though I had emailed, phoned and written to people asking them to do the transfer.
Sheila Rankin did try to help by emailing Bill Lambert, he emailed her back saying that he would phone me, but I have never received his call, Sheila emailed him on 27/01/10, he replied her email on 29/01/10.
I had thought about doing the necessary paper work in order to be re-instated until the other week when I looked on www.epupz.co.uk where they have started to put verified breeder against anyone advertising who are in the KC ABS. I found litters of unregistered puppies, some adverts of litters with no mention of hip or elbow scores, a litter where the sire was unregistered and every colour in the rainbow.
In my opinion these people do not belong in the scheme. I always thought that the ABS was for breeders that bred quality animals from health tested stock of the correct type and colour. The kennel club are now allowing anyone into the scheme who will pay their fees. I am so glad now that I am no longer a member.
Name supplied.

When the serious flaws and deceptions are considered within the KC ABS - they should be reported to the Office of Fair Trading.

Everyone involved in GSD here in Great Britain - should read this web-page

Read what the Chairman of the Kennel Club was reported as saying
to the best of my knowledge this report by Mathew Stander
has never been challenged by the Kennel Club
