Thanks for the links, Myret--interestingly, most of those dogs linked have a significant amount of German working dogs behind them--several are heavily linebred on Fero.

Myret----- The reason SAM hasn't been used more is that he isn't in Germany. He is in Isreal and is a working military K9.

I'd put Schiffslache kennels in my top 5 or so favorite European kennels, particularly through Tyson, but also others.  It's really just as interesting to predict who will be Top Kennels in our future, and not just the top producing dogs.

Apollon is not a fav of mine at all, and not something I would bother breeding to. He is basically a Sch dog that just went and did ring. LOL I have no idea what that means other than you cannot see how his ancestors held up to the sport at all. : )

That is why I really liked Esko's pedigree. His father has no Sch dogs back to the mid 70's. All ring dogs.

Basco is very similarly bred with the majority in the father line being ring dogs.

Half was a dog that I see bred closely on many times in really nice dogs, if there is Sch in the pedigree, which I like to see as little as possible, and only from the mother line.

I am wanting to see if the French start doubling up on a more recent dog. I am trying to find this out, who is very well liked, but it is not very easy from here. : )

I got a mail from the breeder og Obelix du val des hurles and he wrote me that there is a few of the west german lines he likes that was Yoschy, Troll and Aly and Nick they produce  and of course fero because many of those dogs produce high prey and that is what they like i RING dogs mostly the prey he thought in the german lines has to much aggression for the RING sport prey and hunt drives are far better

Daniel has been breeding GSD's longer than I have been alive. He really knows what he is talking about, and has bred God knows how many litters. Obelisk was an interesting dog. Would NOT retrieve for him. LOL

though Javir can produce well he can produce poorly also

is there a dog mentioned in this thread that hasn't done the same? Bitches rule.....

the ring dogs seem to be bred like the recent czech dogs I'm seeing. I don't see where a dog doing Ring is better than a dog doing Sch. You have to judge the dog, not the sport IMNSHO. The link to the Javir son at the Masters.....just showed me an out of control dog:-)
