NO FEAR (a joke?) I cannot address you by your name, guess why?

Your own education is clearly a priority. Of course we can have TWO systems integrated with each other and offering CHOICE for GSD exhibitors. WE can develop the GSDL/WUSV British system however we wish to, it is an ALL INCLUSIVE SYSTEM based on CHOICE and THE HEALTH of our breed.

I see the logic in giving status to dogs that are winning at the regional shows, being an alternative to the KC CC without offering a title is not IMHO a real alternative.

An example of a points system is the Ob Ex Qualification. In obedience not every competing dog will achieve 3 tickets to become an Obedience Champion, to work Ticket classes a dog must have won 3 times in Novice, A, B and C. Owners that wish to title their dog's can apply for an Ex qualification, points are 10 1st, 4 2nd, 2 3rd and 1 for a 4th.

As part of the discussion some thought should be given to recording points. The Ex qualification relies on show secretaries submitting a completed catalouge and then owners that wish to do so apply using the form at  http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/download/1359/obedexcellentqual.pdf

Could we please keep to the topic and refrain from the personal insults, thank you.

The points system is under discussion, it may be that points are only awarded the those dogs that WIN their class.

I fail to see how one can get "personal" with someone "anonymous"  ?????

I can see how this may encourage more people to come and compete at regional events, especially those who do not perhaps like the german style of showing, or are unable to afford handlers to do it for them. It would also offer a Champion title to those who do enter the SV style classes, but whose dogs have no proven working ability.

For a new Champion scheme for the GSD in the UK, I personally do not like the idea of a points system that does not reward working ability.  If the future is to incorporate and encourage working ability (and I am not truly sure that it is), some points allocated for working ability would encourage that. This would simply give those who had passed the minimum working test a slight advantage, which IMO they should have.

Just my feedback to your proposal Videx.

The GSDL/WUSV system has two Working Classes, one for males and one for females that have obtained SV working qualifications. The system provides the SV system for conformation shows with the added INTEGRATED system for those that do NOT wish to follow the SV system with their dogs.

CHOICE - CHOICE - CHOICE - that's what is required and provided.

Please email your comments suggestions to The Secretary or Chairman of the WUSV GSDL Regional Group, these will then be forwarded to the working party and proposals will be drawn up to be put to the next regional group meeting.
Details on GSD League website on WUSV GSDL Regional group page.

Thanks Carol
