Simple solution, get your husband to pay him a vist and get your money back,  No way would a jerk like him rip off me or one of my Folk off and get away with it that cannot be allowed to happen

If you put it on a credit card, even paypal go to your bank and issue a dispute or a chargeback for services not provided, he will lose to visa and mastercard simply by not having prove of shipping with a signed recieving document. Even after 2 years. Tell the bank you attempted to resolve it with the merchant who failed to issue a credit. On top of that just for doing it he will charged a fee and his rates for processing will be alot higher. $3000 is felony theft

You can file a civil suit in small claims court in his local area, as well, $3000 is alot of money to just throw away, I would keep all the emails and file with his police dept. for theft, and then when they are unable to help you. File a court case, he will be found guilty and have to pay you for damages and your court cost. a couple hundred to get the ball rolling he will surely give you what is owed before its gets taken to court. California is very hard on business owners and he is running a cash only business I bet the IRS would love to get an audit Request report from someone.

WOW 3,000 for a pup?? Do his pups poop gold or is he training them to clean your bathroom and help your kids w their homework?? AN older dog w some training I could see that but a pup?

Strange that I can't find links showing lineage, hip or elbow ratings, DM results or anything on that site.

Did you have/sign a contract?  What state are you in?  Do you have proof of payment made (copy of money order and proof it was negotiated, for example or emails from them admitting they got payment) These answers can determine the statute of limitations and the jurisdiction.  In some cases if they are selling in your state, accepted money in your state, you might be able to get local jurisdiction and file in small claims there.  Also if you signed a contract it may contain provision regarding which state will be the place of jurisdiction.  Also business conducted across state lines and or involving the internet could subject them to Federal laws.

Have you given up your dream of having a nice quality German Shepherd? I hope this bad experience with Lane Shepherds did not totally taint you and wipe out your dream. There are some very reputable breeders on this board and I'm sure the right dog is out there for you.  I hope that you are still able to get your money back through the legal system.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience.. I have never dealt with Lanes Shepherds and never will..  IF and that is a BIG IF Lanes German Shepherds is a good business person they will refund your money. I know it will be hard because they are in California and you are all the way over on New England (I think that is where I read you lived). I hope you get this resolved. That is too bad you had such a bad experience in trying to get your first pup. I am HAPPY to hear that you got a nice pup from another breeder and are happy. The DDR dogs are BEAUTIFUL dogs.

Just out of curiosity I looked at their website... WOW are those some EXPENSIVE pups. I can get a young (12-14 month old) from Germany for the price they charge for their Pet pups.. but to each their own.

 And if your husband is not up to going to see this Guy then pay someone to go and see him I tell you now if i lived over there and you paid my fee i would go and see him for you and get your money back it is no big deal at all i have no time at all for people who cheat others.
Then when you have invest wisely in a Pup Look at that little fellow on my Avatar you will not get a better bred Pup anywhere in the world, what he turns out to be is another thing but better bred you will not get any better and it cost in USA dollars 1150 add the freight to that to the USA 1800 dollars or a little more You were stung badly or you have money to burn

I live in New England and he is in CA.

Of course, if I could go back in time....I wouldn't have done it; or paid with a money order; or not saved the e-mails; or not have gone to CA police.  The best I could think of was to file a complaint with the BBB in CA.

I know I was stupid, stupid, stupid.

I only posted to try to prevent someone else from going through what I went through....nobody should have to lose their money like that.  This breeder is NOT reputable.

I feel bad enough so now that people know about this guy I don't feel comfortable posting anymore. I am sorry. It is very stressful for me.

What name does this breeder use here ?
